Wolverines get past Sherman in CCAA Division 2 action

SHERMAN — Nahlia Douglas scored 9 points, collected 11 rebounds, two steals and made five assists to lead Westfield past Sherman 37-32 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 girls basketball action on Friday night.

Reagan Weingart added 12 rebounds, Mackenzie Schumaker had five boards and Olivia Wolfe made three assists for the Wolverines (3-0, 1-0)

Sherman (0-3, 0-1) was led by Emmersen Crawford with 14 points and six rebounds, Baya Oehlbeck had three rebounds and three steals, Carlie Gable collected four steals and three assists, Ava-Kay Irwin had three steals and three assists and Jayne Chambers hauled in four rebounds.

EAGLES CRUISE PAST PIRATES

CLYMER — Chautauqua Lake led 17-1 at halftime en route to a 39-20 Division 2 win over Clymer.

Brina Jacobson led the Eagles (4-1, 1-0) with 13 points and nine rebounds to go along with three steals while Kaylee Tarr had 10 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Gracie Gerring chipped in eight rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots in the win.

Alyssa Pratt led the Pirates (2-1, 0-1) with 8 points, two assists and three steals while Hannidy Goetzinger and Elli Bodamer grabbed nine rebounds apiece.

PANTHERS HOLD ON

PANAMA — Kiera Loberg scored 21 points and made four steals as Panama held off Maple Grove 44-38 in Division 2.

McKenna Kolstee added 12 points and six rebounds for the Panthers (1-3, 1-0), Jessica Lyon had 11 points and nine boards and Kiersten Olson made four assists and two steals.

Maple Grove (3-2, 0-1) was led by Meg Ryan with 15 points and five rebounds, Bry Cornell had 10 boards and five assists, Dani Trim collected nine rebounds, Morgan Caldwell dished five assists with 10 rebounds and Alex Halstrom added another five boards.
