A man who was riding a jet ski near the Dunkirk Pier avoided significant injuries after the vessel apparently burst into flames. The incident happened just after 3 p.m. today in the Dunkirk harbor at 3:00 p.m. Upon arrival firefighters found a jet ski fully engulfed in fire that was adrift. Several extinguishing agents were applied to attempt to quell the flames and personnel attached a rope to the jet ski to keep it from drifting into other vessels. The operator of the jet ski received minor facial burns. The U.S. Coast Guard was advised of the incident.
