JAMESTOWN — The Fredonia Hillbillies opened their CCAA Division 1 West season Monday with a 54-43 loss at Southwestern.

Mitch Pascarella and Alex Card combined for 28 points for Southwestern.

Pascarella tallied 15 points and Card added 13 points for the Trojans (4-3, 1-0), who led 26-17 at halftime.

Card also had seven assists and Pascarella had four steals for Southwestern. Faizon Munir chipped in seven rebounds for the Trojans.

Andrew Field had 12 points for Fredonia (0-3, 0-1).
