Two charged with drug possession in traffic stop
RIPLEY — On Tuesday at about 1 a.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff Deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 76 in the town for a traffic violation. The operator was identified as Joshua Bemis, 33, of Mayville and the passenger was identified as Jessica Zenns, 39, of Jamestown.
Through an investigation a quantity of Methamphetamine, other controlled pills, and drug paraphernalia were allegedly located.
Bemis was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, five counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and no/inadequate muffler.
Zenns was arrested and charged with five counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and false personation.
Bemis and Zenns were arraigned in the Chautauqua County Jail.
