Flea market canceled for this weekend

SHERIDAN — The Lake Shore Flea Market, which is normally held at the Sheridan VFW Memorial Post the first Friday and Saturday of the month, 2556 Route 20, has been canceled for January. The fish fry and bake sale are still taking place. The VFW says “thank you” to all those fish fry supporters. Though the VFW did not win, loyal supporters voted it the third best fish fry in the OBSERVER/Post-Journal “Best of the Best” contest. That's the third best in the entire county. Ball drop set for Fredonia

The village of Fredonia and town of Pomfret are hosting their second annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop on Wednesday night. The White Inn will host the event in its parking lot. The ball will start dropping just before midnight as the last seconds of 2025 tick off. A fireworks display will follow the ball drop. Kravitz Tree Service, BECC Electric, and St. George Enterprises are sponsoring the event. All are welcome.
