Firefighters quickly quell blaze JAMESTOWN – Jamestown firefighters extinguished a blaze on the second floor of a 208 Charles St. residence. Upon arrival around 12:43 a.m. Friday, crews observed fire in second floor windows with smoke venting from the eves and attic. Crews quickly extinguished the fire after locating the blaze. Fredonia Fire halts burn of construction materials The Fredonia Fire Department put out a Wednesday afternoon fire on Lambert Avenue. Initial reports from people passing by on the street around 1:43 p.m. indicated that a shed at 42 Lambert was on fire. However, according to Fredonia Fire Chief Josh Myers, “it was a resident who was burning a large pile of construction materials.” Myers said his firefighters extinguished the fire “and we were in service 30 minutes later.” There were no injuries reported.
