STATE POLICE PROBING POSSIBLE SHOOTING COLLINS --- At approximately 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Troopers out of the Collins barracks responded to a possible shooting incident at 3625 Edgewood Drive. A preliminary investigation is still ongoing and the State Police Special Operations Response Team, Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Erie County Sheriff’s Office are on scene. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Deven J. Colburn, 29, of Jamestown, was charged with having an active felony warrant and resisting arrest. Around 5:10 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of a suspicious person on the east side of the city. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT - Michael E. Hamernik, 50, of Dunkirk, was charged Tuesday with third-degree burglary. According to officials, at about 2:51 p.m., deputies responded to a burglary in progress on Shorewood Drive in the town of Dunkirk. During the investigation it was found that Hamernik allegedly did enter a building without permission. Hendernik was placed into custody, and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail. Jamestown man pleads guilty to meth charge

U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo has announced that Ruben Medina, 20, of Jamestown, pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy to possession with intent to distribute five grams or more methamphetamine, which carries a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum of 40 years, and a fine of $5,000,000.
