CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — At around 1:34 a.m. Sunday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on E. Main St. in Fredonia. The operator was identified as Jorge E. Rosario Alvarez, 45, of Fredonia. An investigation found Rosario Alvarez to be driving while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI, DWI per se, and speed in zone. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT - Harley Gurule, 39, of Irving, was charged Oct. 22 with third-degree sexual abuse. According to officials, on Oct. 11, an investigation was conducted by the criminal investigation division. Through investigation, it was found that Gurule allegedly did subject a juvenile victim to unwanted sexual contact. Gurule will be in Hanover Town Court later. - Robert I. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Brian A. Lowers, 38, of Jamestown, was charged Oct. 19 with resisting arrest, and a fourth-degree criminal mischief arrest warrant. According to police, at about 5:57 p.m., officers observed Lowers in the area of Forest Avenue and Warner Place. Officers knew Lowers had an active Jamestown City Court arrest warrant. Officers made contact with Lowers, and as they began to place Lowers into custody, he allegedly failed to comply. After a brief struggle, Lowers was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. He will be in city court later. - ...
