CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT SHERMAN --- At about 9:15 p.m. Saturday, multiple fire departments responded to 123 Church St. for a garage fire. Once extinguished, members of the Chautauqua County Fire investigation Team responded. It was determined that the fire had originated due to a wood burning stove being in close proximity to combustible materials. No injuries were reported and the garage was destroyed. Police seek assistance on peddler Fredonia police are seeking information about a man going to residences inquiring about cable service. The department reported Wednesday that complaints have been received recently describing a white male approaching residences in the village. The white male does not display any professional credentials and is observed operating a gray sedan bearing an unknown State of New Jersey license plate.
