Lakeshore Humane Society gearing for 22nd annual Giant Yard Sale

The Lakeshore Humane Society's 22nd Annual Giant Yard Sale will be Friday, Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (a day of early bird shopping, with a $3 entrance fee for this day only); Saturday, Aug. 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Floral Hall at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds, located at 1089 Central Ave. in Dunkirk. Court rules twice in favor of condo project

The first two attempts by a group of residents opposed to a condominium near Dewittville have been declined by the state Supreme Court. Chautauqua town officials approved the project in January. The $70 million development will include condominiums, townhouses, single family homes, and a restaurant/tap house. The original plan has been modified and scaled back a few times.
