David and Sandra (Dingman) Ball celebrated their 50th anniversary with a chicken barbecue for 40 family members and their wedding attendants on Aug. 1 at the Fellowship Church in Brocton. On Aug. 2, an open house was held at the church for friends and well-wishers. Both events were hosted by the couple’s four children and their families Michael (Lori) Ball of Belgium, Robert (Julie) Ball of Gowanda, Marge Johnson of Brocton and James (Darla) Ball of Pittsburgh. The couple also has seven grandchildren.

Dave and Sandi were married on Aug. 15, 1964 at the Gowanda Methodist Church,. Wedding attendants who came to dinner included Carole Davis maid of honor, Betsy Burgess junior bridesmaid, Floyd Ball and Jack Peacock groomsmen.

In February, the couple went on a Carribean cruise where David gifted Sandra with a tanzanite and diamond necklace and earrings.

Sandi pastors the Fellowship Church, and the church family honored the couple with a monetary gift.
