ARKWRIGHT — The Arkwright Town picnic will take place Saturday from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Cassadaga American Legion picnic grounds, the corner of Bard and Barnum roads. Food will be served from 1 to 5 p.m., including hot dogs, Italian sausage, coffee, tea and soda pop. those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass.

The event is open to the public, and also includes a horse-drawn wagon, horseshoes, volleyball, playground, 50/50 drawings and music provided by the Scroggins after 5 p.m. Donations are gratefully accepted for a ticket auction at 5:30 p.m. From 1 to 3 p.m., there will be a slides and video presentation of the history of the Arkwright race track on Center Road (called Van’s Race Track), which operated in the late 50’s.

The day is sponsored by the Arkwright Picnic Association and local merchants.
