Westfield VFD seeking public input for substitute fundraiser

With the cancellation of Westfield’s Ox-Roast this year due to COVID restrictions, the Fire Department of Westfield and the Westfield Exempt Volunteer Firemen’s Association are seeking the public’s help to assist with a substitute fundraiser by holding a Good-Bye to COVID-19 fundraiser drawing.

There will be $4,000 worth of prizes up for grabs thanks to the generosity of a number of individuals, businesses, and other organizations from throughout the region.

There will be a total of 44 separate prizes which can be won with the purchase of a $5 ticket. Some of the prizes include a $500 Basil Gift Certificate, a $414 Char Broil Kamander Charcoal Grill, a $250 gift certificate towards a fishing charter, multiple $100 Visa gift cards, gift certificates and gift cards all valued at $50 each, a $225 lottery ticket basket, half cases of wine, and autographed items from the Buffalo Bills.

The drawing for each of these prizes will be held during the First Friday celebration in Westfield on Sept. 3. Tickets to win prizes can be purchased from any Westfield firefighter or exempt association member. Tickets can also be purchased by calling Ed Kneer at 753-0494 or Marsha Holland at 269-9170. Those buying tickets can purchase as many $5 tickets as they want. All proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to directly support the Westfield Fire Department.
