Annual Life Is Art festival April 12 in Barker Common

SUNY Fredonia’s Music Industry Club is proud to host the 5th annual Life Is Art Festival on April 12 in the Barker Commons in downtown Fredonia. The festival runs from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Life Is Art is family friendly festival incorporates performances by local bands and musicians throughout the day, student and local art vendors as well as food trucks. The Music Industry Club will host a raffle sponsored by local businesses with all proceeds donated to the Music is Art Foundation.

This year’s festival will feature performances by SUNY Fredonia a cappella groups (The Riveters, Some Like It Hot, Premium Blend, and Much More Chill), local Fredonia bands (Battle of the New Bands winners Zealot, Yonic, Buxom and Mooses), regional Buffalo bands (Mr. Boneless and Well Worn Boot), and Up For Nothing, a token touring band from Brooklyn.

Life Is Art 2014 will also welcome Buffalo area food trucks The Cheesy Chick, J & L Boulevard BBQ Truck, and Lloyd Taco Truck.

The Music Industry Club offers its members hands on experience, while promoting local music and encouraging community involvement. Bobbi Walls, Promotions Chair for Music Industry Club, expressed how exciting and rewarding it is to take part in planning the charity festival.

“Life Is Art is a wonderful opportunity for club members! We gain real-world experience in planning, promoting and running a music festival, while raising money and awareness for a great cause,” Walls said.
