‘Easter Bunny Train’ events set

Rides on the NY&LE railroad take place April 4, 5 and 11.

GOWANDA — The New York & Lake Erie railroad (NY&LE) is kicking off the season with a special “Easter Bunny Train” on Saturday, March 27 and April 3. Also, one train will depart on Sunday, March 28 at 2 p.m. only.

Two train rides are scheduled each date departing at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. from Gowanda traveling to the village of South Dayton. The NYLE station is located at 50 Commercial St., one-quarter mile east of Route 62.

The scenic train ride will be approximately two and a half hour round trip including a layover at the village of South Dayton for “Easter fun activities.” The Easter Bunny will have goodies for all children on board and a chance to win a prize with the “Jelly Bean Counting contest.”

To purchase tickets, call (716) 241-7165 between 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Fares are $20 for adults; $15 for children ages 4 to 11; and free for children ages 3 and under with a purchase of an adult ticket (3 and under on lap).

Ticket window is located at the Train Station and will be open at 9 a.m. each day of the trip.
