The 1891 Fredonia Opera House will present acclaimed comedian Tammy Pescatelli on Friday, Sept. 14, at 7:30 p.m.

Arguably one of the hardest working women in comedy today, Tammy Pescatelli brings brassy sexiness with a female voice of witty sarcasm to her audiences, holding her own on topics of sports, television, dating and family life using tongue-in-cheek humor. She is one of the only female comedians who is relatable to every audience member — male and female! After seeing her perform, nearly everyone wishes she was their best friend or sister!

Tammy Pescatelli’s After School Special is her latest comedy special. It was filmed earlier this year and is a highly anticipated follow-up to her award-winning one-hour Netflix special, Finding the Funny.

Pescatelli’s career jump-started after competing on — and being named one of the Final Five — on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Her season drew 17 million viewers, garnering her a host of loyal new fans that found themselves alongside those she had amassed through years of touring comedy clubs. It solidified her as one of the sharpest women in the comedy world!

She recently has been seen in appearances on The View, Guy’s Grocery Games: Comics Compete and The Howard Stern Show. She was chosen by Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg to be a part of their Dirty, Sexy, Funny franchise that included a hilarious all-female slate of stand-up comedians comedy special on EPIX/Hulu, a touring show and a pilot for A&E Network.

With a slew of other accolades under her belt — including co-creating, executive producing, writing and starring in her own reality show, A Stand Up Mother, on the WEtv Network — Pescatelli has appeared on numerous television shows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, A&E’s Donnie Loves Jenny, Bravo’s Rocco’s Dinner Party, CBS’ The Talk, NBC’s Last Comic Standing: The Best of the Best, as well as her own Comedy Central Presents special that won the Network’s Standup Showdown that year.

She also was a guest several times on the syndicated Comics Unleashed show and was chosen for its Best of the Best that was a worldwide top-selling DVD. Internationally, she was featured on Best of Just For Laughs, in Montreal, and The World Stands Up and The Laugh Factory, in Europe and Australia.

Pescatelli’s material is currently a fixture on the comedy channels of Sirius/XM Radio; and she is a regular guest of The Howard Stern Wrap Up Show, TapOut, and the syndicated The Bob and Tom Show. Her film credits include: Made in Brooklyn, I am Battle Comic, Single: A Documentary Film and Everybody Wants to be Italian.

A regular on USO Comedy Tours, where she is honored to perform for troops all over the world, Pescatelli continues to tour and perform to sell-out shows around the country.

Opening for Pescatelli is Collin Chamberlin. A young, quick-witted comedian based in Pittsburgh, Chamberlin has an easy, likeable style. He has been featured at comedy clubs such as Hilarities, Milwaukee Comedy Cafe, Buffalo’s Helium, Go Bananas and the Pittsburgh Improv, where he placed second in 2014’s Best New Comedian Competition. He has performed at several festivals including the North Carolina Comedy Festival, the DC Comedy Festival and the Burning Bridges Comedy Festival. He has worked with many national acts including Christina Pazsitzky, Greg Warren, Dave Coulier, Taylor Williamson, Jamie Lissow and SNL’s Kenan Thompson. He even has had an onstage role with Steve Martin and Martin Short!

Tammy Pescatelli’s appearance is part of the Opera House Spotlight Series, which is generously sponsored by DFT Communications. Also supporting the event is Ellicottville Brewing Company-West, which is offering special $1 EBC draft beers before and after the performance to ticketholders who show their tickets.

Tickets are $20 ($18 for Opera House members and educators, $10 for students) and may be purchased in person at the Opera House Box Office or by phone at 716-679-1891, Tuesday-Friday, 1-5 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online at www.fredopera.org anytime.
