June Events set at Anderson-Lee Library

Create polymer clay snails for your plant pots at Anderson-Lee Library in Silver Creek on Tuesday June 10 at 6 p.m.

SILVER CREEK – Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main Street in Silver Creek has announced programming for the month of June.

Programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program. To register for programs, call the library at 716-934-3468, stop by 43 Main Street, or visit www.andersonleelibrary.org and click on our events tab for easy online registration. You can also sign up for email/text reminders when you register online!

The library will be closed Thursday, June 19 for Juneteenth.

– Come see us at the Silver Creek Children’s Fair from 10-2:30pm on Saturday, June 7 in the ballpark behind the library. Pick up information about summer reading and other library programs, make a button, and help us create an art project to decorate our front windows for our summer reading theme “Color Our World”.

– Father’s Day Suncatchers: For ages 3-16. Two two-part sessions will be offered. Join us on Fridays June 6 and 13 at 12:30 p.m. or Saturdays June 7 and 14 at 10:30 a.m. to complete this gift for the dads in your life. Please bring a 3-5″ lid from a cottage cheese or yogurt container. Some lids will be available. Please register in advance.

– Plant Pot Snails: Best for ages 5 and up. Tuesday, June 10 at 6 p.m. Have fun creating Polymer Clay Snails for a plant pot. These will be created at the library but need to be baked at home to harden. Instructions on how to do so will be available. Please register in advance.

– Lego Club for ages 5-12, Thursday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. Build the challenge of the day, pick a challenge card or free build. Your choice! Limit of 10 children and pre-registration is required.

– Summer Reading Registration: Stop by the library during open hours June 23-28 to register for summer reading! Our summer reading program is for all ages and this year’s theme “Color Our World” will be filled with lots of different opportunities to create art!

– Color Our World Summer Reading Kick-Off Event: Tie-Dye Party for all ages, Thursday, June 26 from 4-7pm in the ballpark behind the library. Stop by anytime during the stated hours to tie-dye and register for summer reading. Please bring an item to tie-die. The item must be mostly cotton. T-shirts, pillowcases, and dishcloths are all great choices. These do not need to be brand new! Look for an old t-shirt that can be repurposed! Please register for the tie-dye event. If you are just stopping by to register for summer reading, no registration is necessary.

– The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from 2-4 p.m. This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!

Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from 12-8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 12-5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The library is closed Wednesday and Sunday.
