Smilo and the Ghost to perform in Cassadaga Sunday

Smilo and the Ghost will be performing Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the Cassadaga Floating Stage.

CASSADAGA – The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga are excited to announce their last concert of the season.

Smilo and the Ghost will be performing on the Floating Stage on Sunday, Aug. 31 from 5-7 p.m. The Floating Stage is located at Cassadaga Beach on Park Avenue, Cassadaga. Smilo and the Ghost is an Americana-grit folk band that creates a fusion of folk, alternative country and soul.

Formed in Erie, Pa. in 2016, Smilo and the Ghost have shared stages with Grammy winners and national acts. They have four albums of original music. On guitar and vocals is singer-songwriter, Tyler Smilo. On mandolin and vocals, Adam McKillip and on bass guitar – Jassen Wilber. Dominick DeCecco is on banjo and vocals. You won’t want to miss this band of misfits, musicians and truth-tellers.

Come by land or come by sea. This concert is free and Cassadaga Youth Sports will be serving up refreshments. There will be a few artists, crafters on the basketball court. Lifeguards will be on duty and kids can enjoy the playground and tetherball. There are picnic tables, grills and plenty of shade trees. Come early so you can view the boat parade which starts at 4:30 p.m. in the middle lake. They will make their way to the concert.

Funding is made possible for the Cassadaga Lakes Summer Concert Series through Arts Services Inc’s Creative Impact Fund thanks to a New York State Senate Initiative supported by the NYS Legislature and the Office of the Governor and administered by the New York State Council on the Arts.

Beach parking is limited. Please park at the nearby library, church or firehall if you are able to do the short walk to the beach. In case of inclement weather, this concert will be moved to the Cassadaga Fire Hall on 22 Mill St. or American Legion Post 1280 on 228 Maple Ave. For more information, please call 716-665-8855.
