Back to School Blessing Sunday

WESTFIELD — St. Peter’s Episcopal Church of Westfield invites you to their special Sunday service at 10 a.m. that is dedicated to the start of a new academic year. At this service they will be blessing students, teachers, staff, backpacks, and/or other educational tools.

All students, teachers, and staff — preschool through life-long learners — are invited to bring your backpacks, laptops, tablets or any other device essential to your educational success.

The community of St. Peter’s extends its best wishes to all our area schools and colleges for a safe and prosperous new year.

Faith Formation classes to start

GOWANDA — St. Joseph’s church, Gowanda, welcomes you to join their upcoming faith formation classes. Classes meet on Sundays and have monthly family activities for everyone to enjoy. If you would like more information, please call Wilma Parry 532-5100. The faith formation “kick off” will be on Sept. 7 after 4:30 p.m. mass. There will be having stories, food, music and S’mores! Please RSVP by Friday Sept. 6.

Brocton Baptist Church to celebrate 200 years

BROCTON — The Brocton Baptist Church, previously named First Portland Baptist Church, 33 W. Main St., Brocton, New York, will be celebrating their 200th anniversary. There will be services on Sept. 21 held at 6 p.m. and on Sept. 22 at 10:30 a.m. The church invites the community to come and help celebrate their 200th year of worshipping and service to our Lord Jesus Christ.
