‘Back to Church’ event is Sunday

“Back to Church Sunday,” part of a national movement of churches across America, will be held at First Baptist Church in Dunkirk at 10 a.m. Sunday. All are welcome to join us.

Since it started as a call to action and invitation for the church in 2009, the National Back to Church Sunday movement marks its 14th year and continues to gain momentum. More than 5 million Christ followers have participated through 40,000 churches. Eight out of 10 people say they are open to visiting church if invited–they are just waiting for an invitation. So even if you haven’t been personally invited yet, Pastor Mark Massaro wants you to come out and see what the church is all about.

For Back to Church Sunday, First Baptist Church invites the community to a 10 a.m. worship service followed by food and fun out on the front lawn. There will be drawings from some gifts as well.

This year’s Back to Church Sunday campaign is designed around a Celebration theme encouraging current church attenders to invite friends and neighbors to come experience the benefits of being rooted in faith and community. You can find the support, hope and friendship you’ve been looking for in a local church family. As well as discovering the deeper, spiritual benefits that real faith in God can provide.

First Baptist Church believes that there has never been a better time than now for people to come back and get plugged in to a church that offers friendships, opportunities to serve the community, and a place to grow spiritually through a journey of personal faith.

First Baptist Church is a welcoming local congregation located at 876 Central Ave. in Dunkirk. There is convenient parking and easy access. For more information go to dunkirkbaptist.org/backtochurch or call 716-366-6634.
