The Living Nativity taking place at Harvest Chapel Step back in time and experience the very first Christmas. Go on a walking tour with a “tour guide” through various stations, all pointing to the birth of Christ. The tour will last approximately 40 minutes and tours leave every 10 minutes. St. John’s United Church of Christ, 733 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, will present “Christmas Vespers — the Music of Christmas” on Friday, Dec. 21 at 6:30 p.m., featuring pianist Ann Rose and violist David Rose. Ann Rose was born in South Korea, and started playing the piano at age 5. She began improvising and composing at a very early age — two skills which she pursued through her early training, achieving a degree in Composition and Piano from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada. On Saturday, Oct. 27, young people from St. Anthony Church in Fredonia and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Dunkirk, received the Sacrament of Confirmation which was conferred by Bishop Edward Grosz of the Diocese of Buffalo. Twenty young men and women received the sacrament at the 4 p.m. Mass with parish and family members present to celebrate.
