Christmas in South Dayton set for Saturday

SOUTH DAYTON — Residents and neighbors are invited to help decorate the Charlie Brown Christmas trees on the South Dayton Village Square on Saturday.

The children can bring their own ornament — even a homemade one — or one will be available, to place on one of the Charlie Brown Christmas trees. Also, you may bring a non-perishable item for the local Food Pantry.

There will be winter games and a chance to dig in a snow filled kettle for a winter prize.

At the Village Library, Park Street, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Saturday morning quilters will have a craft sale, complimentary hot chocolate and cookies. There will be Christmas crafts for the kids including foam gingerbread men to decorate along with Christmas llamas and wooden reindeer ornaments, Christmas stockings, and reindeer antlers.

From 10:30 to 11 a.m., enjoy children’s story time in the children’s section of the library. Browse through the book sale.

For the grownups, register at the Village Library for $50 with the drawing 1 p.m. at the Library. This event is sponsored by the village of South Dayton with village Trustee Rob Killock as chairman.
