Silver Creek Seniors meet

SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Seniors met on February 8th with 24 members present. Vice president Joan Suski opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag and all singing “God Bless America.” Helen Burt was the visitor for the day. Chaplin Pauline Flitt read “A Valentine Prayer”and offered a blessing to the members and the food. She then entertained us with some jokes. The Valentine’s lunch included pizza, wings and desserts. President Ed Newman opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag and all singing “This Land is Your Land.” Chaplin Pauline Flitt read “Fly with God.” Members then enjoyed pizza and desserts. SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Seniors met on Dec. 14 with 24 members and guests present. President Ed Newman opened with the pledge to the flag and everyone singing “America the Beautiful.” He then welcomed Cathy Markham Hebb and new member Judy Domanski. Pauline Flitt read “Thank God for the Morning” and offered a blessing for those gathered and for the food. Members enjoyed homemade soup, bread and desserts. Dementia support group starts

A new caregiver support group has been formed in the north county for those caring for someone with dementia. Dine & Dish meets the second Thursday of each month. The county Office for the Aging is offering a support group for caregivers in the north county beginning Nov. 9 at 9:30 a.m. The group will meet at different restaurants each month. Participants are responsible for the cost of their own meals. Respite for your loved one may be provided with advance notice.
