The Bud ‘n Bloom Garden Club held its annual banquet in May at the Colony Seafood and Steakhouse Restaurant in Irving. Arrangements were made by Sally Newell, secretary.

The theme of the decorations was western with red bandanna napkins, small horse figures and pots of red geraniums with black and white checked bows. The favors were black painted horseshoes adorned with a small bouquet of geraniums, greens and a matching bow.

Officers for the new year are: Co-presidents: Judy Wilcox and Nancy Kohler; Treasurer: Sue Drag and Secretary: Sally Newell. Each officer was presented with a hanging basket of geraniums as a thank you from the club.

On May 24, members met at the Point Gratiot Lighthouse for their annual planting of flowers. Barb Joy chaired this event and coordinated with Dave Briska of the Lighthouse to purchase the geraniums, vinca vine, spikes, marigolds and assorted annuals for the two large urns by the entrance and the many smaller flower pots.

A plant exchange and an ice cream social followed their efforts to beautify the local historical landmark and museum again this year.

The next meeting will be June 19 at the Wild Blossom Hollow in Forestville. Marie Zambotti will be chairperson for this event.

Starting at $2.99/week.
