Top CLCS students are honored
Chautauqua Lake Students of the Month - 2
Students of the Month at Chautauqua Lake Central School were honored for October achievements. The student recognition program honors students in grades seven through 12 whose classroom performance, attitude toward learning, work ethic, and extra-curricular activities set them apart.
— Seventh- grader Mackenna Hardenburg is an outstanding student. Her favorite subject is Math, a passion she has always had, with her teachers encouraging her to push herself and excel in the classroom. Outside of academics, she enjoys singing, all forms of art, playing soccer, and spending time with her wonderful family. She cherishes the memories of attending multiple Broadway shows and concerts with them. Mackenna credits Mrs. Mages as her most inspiring teacher, expanding her love of reading and essay writing while challenging her to reach a higher level of comprehension. Looking ahead, Mackenna has set her sights on becoming the goalie for the Modified Girls Soccer Team next season and maintaining her straight A’s in school.
— Eighth-grader Landen Emery has demonstrated remarkable dedication to his schoolwork, consistently putting in the effort to excel in the classroom. He works well with others, is always polite and respectful to both teachers and peers, and stands out for his willingness to go the extra mile to achieve success. His hard work and positive attitude have not gone unnoticed by his teachers. In addition to his academic achievements, Landen is a year-round athlete who is excelling on and off the field.
— Ninth-grader Adriannah Cettell has been recognized as October Student of the Month for her dedication and growth mindset. Her favorite activity is photography, and at school, she has been inspired by Mr. Tennies, who she describes as “very caring and helpful.” Adriannah demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility, conscientiously addressing any missing assignments and showing intrinsic motivation to improve in math. She takes pride in herself and her schoolwork, consistently striving to do her best. Her teachers are excited to see where her hard work and determination will take her this school year.
— Tyler Seelbinder, a 10th-grader, is a strong group participant and an out-of-the-box thinker with a great sense of humor. Thoughtful and well-prepared, he brings a positive attitude to class, enriching discussions with his beneficial knowledge and perspectives. His favorite subject is DDPM II, where he enjoys the creative freedom to design and make a variety of things. Outside of school, Tyler loves biking, hiking, and catching up on sleep. Inspired by his grandmother, who encourages him to excel and pursue a meaningful profession, Tyler dreams of one day designing an entire house.
— Eleventh-grader Lily Otto is a conscientious, kind, and dedicated student with a genuine passion for learning and self-improvement. Her curiosity and valuable insights make her an avid and engaged learner. Lily’s favorite subject is Psychology, where she enjoys exploring the intricacies of the brain and human behavior, as well as participating in the fun, interactive activities the class offers. Outside of school, Lily’s hobbies include reading, watching shows, hanging out with friends, and running track. She draws inspiration from her teachers, including Mrs. Janicki, Mrs. Reyda, and Mrs. Jantzi, who have brightened her days and motivated her to strive for her best. Lily is determined to maintain the High Honor Roll for the rest of her junior year, a goal that reflects her dedication and drive to excel.
— Devin Kelsey, a 12th-grader, exemplifies motivation and dedication to helping others. Always encouraging his classmates to do their best, he goes above and beyond to support those around him. Devin’s favorite subject in school is science, as he enjoys how the classes interconnect, allowing him to build a deeper understanding of the world each year. Outside of school, Devin enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening, biking, hiking, camping, and appreciating trees. Devin is inspired by Mr. Tennies, whom he describes as an outstanding teacher who uplifts students and brightens their days. “I often go to Mr. Tennies with any of my problems because he’s sure to give great advice and life lessons,” Devin shares. With a goal of being accepted into SUNY ESF, Devin aspires to participate in a research project in college and continue exploring his passion for the natural world.
