seminar Saturday

E2CCB Adult Education is holding a free two-hour construction trades introductory seminar on Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Dunkirk Community Learning Center, 21 E. Second St. in Dunkirk. The free seminar will cover general home repair tips and tricks while providing a look into the 100-hour building trades program scheduled to begin in January. Topics covered in the building trades program include electrical, drywall, plumbing, roofing, and framing. For more information or to register for the free seminar call (716) 805-3155.

seniors meet

SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Seniors met on Nov. 16 with 22 members present. President Ed Newman welcomed Tony Borrello, and all sang happy birthday to Bob Fancher. Newman then opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag and all singing “God Bless America.” Chaplain Pauline Flitt read “A Word” and offered prayers for the members and the food. Winners of the 50-50 were Claudia Markham Ahl (twice) and Phyllis Burghardt. Gifts were won by Flitt, Gene Chesbro and, Joan Militello. Wheel of Fortune lucky winners were: Ahl, Lorrie Newman, Betty Moores, Chesbro, Borrello and Eleanor Lemiszko.

Village Board meets Monday

SILVER CREEK — The next meeting of the Silver Creek Village Board will be held Monday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m.

Library plans Zoom story times

Join Darwin R. Barker Library for our next session of virtual storytimes on Zoom.

The library stories will be read on the following mornings at 10:30 a.m.: Friday, Dec. 10, Monday, Dec. 13; Friday, Dec. 17; and Monday, Dec. 20.

Craft supply bags with instructions will be available for pickup at the Library by Friday, Dec. 10 while supplies last. All programs are free of charge. All children welcome. To register, please send an e-mail including child’s name and a phone number to childrenslibrarian@barkerlibrary.org

Auxiliary meeting set for Dec. 8

The Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club Ladies Auxiliary will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Mullet Street clubroom in Dunkirk. Upcoming events will be discussed. All members are welcome to attend.
