Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

CHAUTAUQUA – Megan D. Mitchell, 32, of Overland Park, Kan., was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher and failure to keep right after a traffic stop on East Lake Road around 3:20 a.m.

Investigation led to the operator of the vehicle, Mitchell, to be deemed intoxicated. Mitchell was taken into custody and later released with appearance tickets for Chautauqua Town Court.

Gowanda Police

David Snyder, 55, of Springville was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and second-degree obstructing governmental administration on July 9.

Around 1:50 p.m., patrol responded to a village establishment on Miller Street for the report of a subject threatening and being physically combative with staff. Upon patrol’s arrival, Snyder allegedly became belligerent and verbally abusive toward patrol.

Snyder’s behavior then escalated with him allegedly becoming physically combative toward the officers. While arresting Snyder, he allegedly continued his physical actions fighting with police. Once Snyder was placed in the patrol car, he reportedly attempted to kick the patrol car’s windows out, with negative results.

He was arraigned in Persia Town Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.

Michelle Petsch, 28, of East Main Street was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and inadequate taillight on July 21.

Around 9:45 p.m., Petsch was stopped by patrol on Buffalo Street for allegedly operating a vehicle with a taillight not working. During this traffic stop, a Department of Motor Vehicles computer check revealed that Petsch’s license had been suspended a total of eight times from 2009 to 2011.

Also during the traffic stop, Petsch was found to be in alleged possession of four Oxycodone pills, a controlled substance.

Petsch was arraigned in Collins Town Court and she was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Nathan Miskell, 21, of Aldrich Street was charged with second-degree harassment and child endangerment on July 23.

On July 16, patrol received a complaint regarding Miskell threatening a female known to him. This female reportedly stated Miskell threatened to burn her house down, kill her pet dog and cause physical harm to her and her boyfriend. These alleged threats and actions by Miskell were reportedly in the presence of the victim’s five-year-old child.

As Miskell could not be located by patrol at that time, a warrant was requested and issued by Persia Town Court. On July 23 at about 8 p.m., Miskell was located and arrested.

He was arraigned and released to appear in Persia Town Court.

Ashley Page, 31, of Main Street, Dayton, was charged with operating an all-terrain vehicle without a helmet and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on July 24.

Around 7:30 p.m., patrol observed Page allegedly operating an ATV on Aldrich Street without wearing a helmet. She was subsequently stopped by patrol.

A Department of Motor Vehicles computer check revealed Page’s license was suspended twice in 2014.

Page will appear in Persia Town Court.

Leiondie Mohawk, 31, of Bush Road, Collins, was charged with third-degree assault on July 25.

Patrol responded to the report of an assault at Creekside Park around 11:30 p.m. Patrol was informed that Mohawk, who allegedly appeared highly intoxicated, reportedly became physically aggressive toward another female. Mohawk allegedly punched the female victim in the facial area, knocking out the victim’s tooth.

Patrol located Mohawk at 37 Union St. She was arraigned in Collins Town Court and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $1,000 bail.

CHAUTAUQUA – Frank J. Clements, 68, of Pittsburgh, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or greater, moving from lane unsafely, failure to keep right and driving too slow after a traffic stop around 11:40 p.m. on Route 394.

The operator was identified as Clements and investigation allegedly found him to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and was released with appearance tickets.

HANOVER – Donald V. Lindow, 40, of Amherst, was charged Monday with driving while intoxicated and failure to stop at a stop sign after a traffic stop on Alleghany Road around 12:30 a.m. Lindow was identified as the operator of the vehicle and after an investigation, he was taken into custody. Lindow will appear in Hanover Town Court.

RIPLEY – Brandon L. Murphy, 20, of Ripley, was charged Wednesday with second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment after deputies responded to a report of a person who threatened another individual with a weapon around 2 p.m. Upon arrival and further investigation, it was found that Murphy allegedly threatened another person while holding a large knife on Goodrich Street. A warrant was issued for Murphy and he was taken into custody. He was arraigned in Ripley Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail or $2,000 property bond.

Dunkirk Police

Christopher Hammond, 27, of Clinton Street, Fredonia, was charged July 22 with unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

A 17-year-old youth of Webster Road, Fredonia, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on July 23.

Julio Quinones, 48, of South Roberts Road was charged with obstruction, failure to keep right, unsafe turn, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, speed in zone, failure to comply and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on July 23.

Julio Torres, 43, of North Ermine Street was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after an accident involving a parked vehicle on North Ermine Street around 3:45 p.m. Saturday.

Anthony Orazio, 25, of Mullet Street was charged Monday with petit larceny.

Luis Ortega, 33, of Townsend Street was charged with third-degree assault on Monday.

Fredonia Police

Austin Glasier, 18, of Seymour Street was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and speed in zone on July 22.

Jonathan Cavero-Santiago, 30, of Temple Street was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment on July 23.

CHAUTAUQUA – Thomas R. Cole, 54, of Dewittville was charged on July 22 with unlawful possession of marijuana, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, growing of the plants known as cannabis by an unlicensed person and possession of a controlled substance by ultimate users original container after Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to 6353 Centralia Hartfield Rd for a report of a neighbor dispute.

After deputies arrived they allegedly found eight marijuana plants growing on the property. Cole was the property owner, and after a search of the residence, deputies also found a small bag containing Marinol pills and several marijuana cigarettes.

Cole was taken into custody on the above charges and was issued appearance tickets for Chautauqua Town Court on a later date.

PORTLAND – John K. Spinuzza, 56, of Westfield was charged on July 28 with driving while ability impaired by drugs and two county of failure to keep right after Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies reportedly observed a vehicle commit a vehicle and traffic violation on Webster Road.

Deputies then pulled the vehicle over on Route 20 in the town of Westfield after another vehicle and traffic violation was allegedly observed. Upon further investigation, it was found that Spinuzza was operating his vehicle while impaired by drugs. Spinuzza was taken into custody and later released. He is due back in Portland Town Court at a later date.

State Police in Jamestown

MINA – Jon B. Corbin, 46, of Erie, Pennsylvania, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated after State Police observed his vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway on Conway Road in Mina.

After field sobriety tests, Corbin was placed under arrest for DWI and transported to the Jamestown barracks for processing where a blood alcohol content of .12 was obtained. Corbin was issued appearance tickets returnable to Mina Town Court.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

HANOVER – Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded Saturday to a personal-injury involving an all-terrain vehicle on Christy Road around 5:40 p.m.

Investigation determined that Nicholas J. Watts, of Fredonia, had lost control of the ATV and drove it into a steep ditch.

Watts and passenger Jordan T. Logano were both transported to Lake Shore Hospital by Irving and Silver Creek Fire/Rescue for non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic citations were issued to Watts for operating an ATV on a highway, operating an ATV with no helmet, operating an ATV with no insurance and operating an unregistered ATV.

CHAUTAUQUA – James J. Nedwick, 55, of Stockton, was charged Friday with felony driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher, failure to comply with a police officer, failure to keep right, moving from lane unsafely and parking on pavement after deputies observed a vehicle facing east, parked in the westbound lane of Dean Road around 12:30 a.m. When deputies initiated the traffic stop, the vehicle allegedly took off. A short pursuit occurred in which multiple traffic offenses were allegedly committed. The driver was identified as Nedwick. Due to a prior DWI conviction, Nedwick the DWI charge was a felony. He will appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.

RIPLEY – Jaelyn R. Kuczynski, 25, of North East, Pennsylvania, was charged with third-degree assault Saturday after she allegedly struck a female victim on West Main Street around 7 a.m. Her actions allegedly injured the female victim. Kuczynski will appear in Ripley Town Court.

WESTFIELD – Jeffrey Kimbel Sr., 49, of Ripley was charged on July 23 with second-degree harassment after deputies were dispatched to a residence on Parker Road for the report of a physical altercation. After an investigation, it was allegedly discovered that Kimbel pushed and threw a subject at the residence. Kimbel was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Westfield Town Court on a later date.

ARKWRIGHT – James R Bielat Sr., 62, of Fredonia was charged on July 23 with second-degree harassment and unlawful possession of marijuana after deputies responded to Straight Road for a report of a fight. Through an investigation it was reportedly determined that Bielat had pushed another subject for no apparent reason. Bielat was also found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. Bielat was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Arkwright Town Court at a later date.

CHARLOTTE – Chris Christodoulou, 53, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree assault on Friday.

Christodoulou allegedly punched a female victim on Barnum Road around 2:30 p.m. Said actions did cause the victim to be injured.

Christodoulou will appear in Charlotte Town Court.

MAYVILLE – Corey Winas, 26, of Meadows Road, Dewittville, was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher and speed in zone on Saturday.

Around 2:15 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle for allegedly speeding on East Chautauqua Street. The driver was identified as Winas and upon investigation, he was alleged to have been intoxicated.

Winas was given appearance tickets for Chautauqua Town Court.

CHAUTAUQUA – Bradley Kibler, 31, of East Main Street, Westfield, was charged with crossing hazard markings, unregistered motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated and DWI per se on Saturday.

Around 12:05 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle for allegedly crossing over the white fog line of the roadway on Route 430. The driver was identified as Kibler and upon investigation, he was alleged to have been intoxicated. Further investigation also showed Kibler’s vehicle registration was expired.

Kibler was given appearance tickets for Chautauqua Town Court.

Suspect sought in Jamestown drive-by shooting

JAMESTOWN – Police are searching for a suspect in the Friday evening drive-by shooting at the Washington Street Tops.

According to police, a male victim leaving the store was shot several times at close range as a vehicle passed by the entrance.

The victim was taken by ambulance from the scene, and later transported to Erie County Medical Center. His condition was unknown at press time.

Surveillance cameras captured the vehicle leaving the parking lot and traveling north on Washington Street toward Fluvanna Avenue. It is believed to be a Ford Focus.

Anyone who may have information on this incident or may know the location of the suspect vehicle is asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department at 483-7537.

According to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, Jamestown police reported nine firearm-related violent crimes in the city between January and May. The city has a five-year average of four firearm-related violent crimes from 2010-2014.

Deputies catch up, charge 100 mph Panama driver

NORTH HARMONY – An 18-year-old Panama man found out the law does catch up to you – even if you are driving in excess of 100 mph.

Clayton A. Manwaring of Panama-Bear Lake Road was charged with two counts of speeding, failure to comply with lawful order and reckless operation of a motor vehicle Saturday after Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to pull over his vehicle around 12:45 a.m. Manwaring failed to comply and reached speeds of more than 100 mph to evade police.

His vehicle’s license plate was captured on camera and he was later charged and will appear in North Harmony Town Court at a later date.

Dunkirk man charged with assault

The City of Dunkirk Special Response Team and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant Tuesday around 10:40 p.m. at 25 E. Benton St. in the city of Dunkirk.

According to Dunkirk Police, entry was made without incident and once inside officers located and took Robert S. Gee, 53, into custody.

The search warrant and arrest warrant for Gee was issued earlier by City of Dunkirk Court Judge Walter Drag.

Gee was charged with second-degree assault stemming from a domestic incident which allegedly took place at his residence.

Gee was held in Dunkirk City Jail and subsequently arraigned by Judge Drag. Gee was then sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail, pending further action by the court.

The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force is comprised of officers from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and City of Dunkirk Police Department.

WESTFIELD – Cliff-ord S. Dowdy, 37, of North East, Pennsylvania, was charged Tuesday with two counts of felony driving while intoxicated after sheriff’s and Westfield Police executed a warrant from the Chautauqua County Court.

Police pulled a vehicle over for a traffic violation on West Main Street and the driver was identified as Dowdy.

Dowdy had warrants for two felony counts of DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation as well as other outstanding arrest warrants for other police agencies in Chautauqua County.

Dowdy was taken into custody for the county court warrants and was additionally charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation by Westfield Police.

Dowdy was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail and will appear in court at a later date.

ELLINGTON – Thom K. Griehm, no age given, of Jamestown, was charged Tuesday with trespass. He was allegedly found to have entered posted property on Waterman Road Monday around 6:30 p.m., after being told not to do so by the owner.

Griehm was issued an appearance ticket for Ellington Town Court.

BEMUS POINT – Aaron M. Moore, 26, of Lockport, was charged with third-degree burglary and petit larceny following a report of property stolen from a business on June 18.

Subsequent investigation found Moore had allegedly entered the business and removed property without the permission of the owner.

On Tuesday Moore was arraigned in Ellery Town Court and was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

Name released in water rescue

OBSERVER Staff Report

A Sanborn man who was rescued from Lake Erie has been identified by police. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Lake Erie State Park for an overturned kayak.

According to police, Mark R. Gerlach, 33, was kayaking by himself around 9:30 p.m. when a wave caused him to overturn and be thrown from the kayak. Gerlach was able to hang onto the kayak and stay afloat and call for help.

The sheriff’s marine division was able to locate and recover Gerlach and he was treated for mild hypothermia, but refused further medical treatment. Gerlach was charged with failure to have a life jacket.

Dunkirk dive/rescue, Dunkirk Fire Department and Westfield Fire Department also responded to the scene.

ELLERY – Carri A. Cavalier, 43, of Bemus Point was charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding on Saturday. Deputies observed Cavalier’s vehicle speeding on Route 430 at 12:45 a.m. Cavalier was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was released to appear in Ellery Town Court.

ELLERY – Jonathan T. Melquist, 30, of Lakewood was charged with driving while intoxicated, moving from lane unsafely and having an open container of alcohol on Sunday. Deputies stopped Melquist’s vehicle on Route 430 for allegedly moving from lane unsafely at 2:41 a.m. Melquist was allegedly found to be intoxicated and in possession of an open container. He was released to appear in Ellery Town Court.

Alyssa Crespo, 20, of Houghton Street, Fredonia, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, failure to stop at a stop sign and uninsured motor vehicle on July 13.

Luis Ruiz, 28, of Ruggles Street was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and criminal mischief on July 16.

A 16-year-old Lincoln Avenue youth was charged with petit larceny, unauthorized use and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on Saturday. That same youth was also charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on Tuesday.

Paul Ruiz, 21, of North Jerboa Street was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Saturday.

Edriese Walker, 25, of Lake Shore Drive East was charged with second-degree criminal contempt on Sunday.

Robert Phillips, 26, of Hamburg was charged with following too closely and Ross Irizarry, 46, of Lake Shore Drive East was charged with unlicensed operator after a two-vehicle, rear-end accident on Lake Shore Drive East at North Beagle Street Monday around 5:30 p.m.

Irizarry and a 54-year-old passenger were transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital after the accident, both for the complaint of pain, according to an accident report.

Cynthia Merrill, 49, of Greco Lane, Dunkirk, was issued a criminal summons for petit larceny on July 15.

Pattie Pusatier, 50, of Tonawanda was charged with falsely reporting an incident on July 15.

Two 17-year-old Portland youths were charged with petit larceny on Saturday.

Amber Harrison, 38, of Angell Road, Silver Creek, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on July 5.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office

Nichole L. Merecki, 29, of Dunkirk was charged with a bench warrant from Persia Town Court and taken into custody by Dunkirk Police Department Saturday. She was then turned over to Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies and arraigned in Persia Town Court. She was released after paying a fine.

Suspect attempts to flee into wooden area after served warrant

ELLINGTON – A suspect apparently fled into a wooden area after being served an arrest warrant by police. Chautauqua County Sheriff deputies and members of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force executed an arrest warrant at a Hagerdon Hill Road residence Friday.

According to police, James H. Boardman, 28, attempted to flee into a wood area surrounding 1421 Hagerdon Hill Road but was taken into custody by officers. The warrant was issued by the Ellicott Town Court based on information Board allegedly sold quantities of heroin to task force agents on numerous occasions.

Boardman was arraigned in Ellicott Town Court on charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. He was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail pending further action of the court. Additional charges are pending.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

ELLERY – Anthony J. Querrieo Sr., 29, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving with an open container of alcohol on Friday. Deputies stopped to check on a vehicle parked on the side of the road at 11:56 p.m. on Center Street. Querrieo was allegedly found to be intoxicated. Deputies also allegedly found an open container in the vehicle. Querrieo was released to appear in Ellery Town Court.

CARROLL – Kyle Green, 22, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree harassment on Friday.

Around 8:20 p.m., deputies responded to an incident on Frew Run Road. Upon investigation, it was found that Green allegedly punched another individual.

Green was issued an appearance ticket for Carroll Town Court.

CHAUTAUQUA – Nicholas Shields, 24, of Spruce Street, Mayville, was charged with second-degree harassment on Saturday.

Around 3:50 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a fight at a residence on Spruce Drive. Upon arrival and further investigation, it was found that Shields allegedly punched another individual several times. Shields reportedly fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival, but was located a short time later.

He was issued an appearance ticket for Chautauqua Town Court.

WESTFIELD – Matthew Thomas Cooper, 30, of Chipley, Florida, was charged with driving while intoxicated, operating above .08 percent blood alcohol content and fourth-degree criminal mischief on Sunday.

Around 1:10 a.m., deputies and Westfield Police were dispatched to a criminal mischief complaint at a location on Route 5 in the town of Westfield. The owner of the property alleged that Cooper intentionally damaged his property by spinning his tires on his vehicle, causing ruts in the grass and subsequently leaving the property.

While investigating the complaint, the suspect reportedly drove past the property with his pickup truck. Deputies and Westfield Police stopped said vehicle on Route 5 and upon investigation, determined the operator was allegedly intoxicated.

Cooper was arraigned in Westfield Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force

JAMESTOWN – Christian O. Opio, 33, and Maylee Nunez, 35, both of Franklin Street, were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance on Thursday. Both were charged on arrest warrants allegedly the pair sold quantities of heroin to task force agents. Both were arraigned in Jamestown City Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail pending further action of the court. Additional charges are anticipated. Camper explodes in Ellington; two injured

ELLINGTON – A camper explosion in Ellington injured two people Saturday.

A Star Flight helicopter landed on a golf course near the site of a camper explosion at Top-A-Rise Campground on Dean School Road in Ellington late Saturday morning.

The explosion was apparently the result of a gas line leak, which was set ablaze after a person attempted to light a pilot light in a hot water tank, said Steve Rexford, Ellington Fire Department chief.

“Ellington Fire Department was the first on location,” Rexford said. “There was mutual aid from Gerry and Kennedy, however they were turned around en route.”

He added that the fire was put out by neighboring campers. The fire department was dispatched at 11:33 a.m.

There were two people injured in the explosion; one was taken to UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa., by Star Flight while the other refused medical treatment.

The names of those injured were not released.

Bicyclists seriously injured in accident

JAMESTOWN – At 12:25 p.m. on Saturday, a van on West Eighth Street hit and seriously injured two female bicyclists.

The bicyclists were struck head-on, sustaining serious injuries from the collision. Both were transported to WCA Hospital in an ALSTAR ambulance, and later, one was transported to ECMC via Star Flight for treatment.

The driver of the van was identified as 30-year-old Tanya Critzer of Jamestown.

Critzer has been charged with failure to keep right and failure to use care for a bicyclist.

She told the police that she had been distracted by children in her vehicle and did not see the bikes traveling in the opposite direction.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are possible.

Information on the victims’ identities and the extent of their injuries was not immediately available.

Three charged in marijuana bust

PERRYSBURG – Three town residents are facing charges after the Olean Office of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force found a “sophisticated grow room” for marijuana plants inside a home at 12754 Route 39 Tuesday.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies report Joshua M. Peterson, 27, Danielle J. Johnston, 21, and Donald L. Ervolina, 27, were charged with unlawfully growing marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana following an investigation.

Officials report inside the home, heating lamps and reflective wrap surrounded the grow room for multiple marijuana plants. In addition, other plants were found growing outside of the house.

The Olean drug task force is comprised of the Catta-raugus County Sheriff’s Department, New York State Police, Gowanda Po-lice Department, Salamanca Police and Allegany County Sheriff’s Department.

The three will appear in Perrysburg Town Court at a later date.

Break in Evans hit-and-run investigation

EVANS – The vehicle believed to be involved in a hit-and-run accident on July 11 in the town of Evans has been found and a suspect has been identified, according to the Town of Evans Police Department.

The hit-and-run accident involved a vehicle and adult tricycle at about 1 a.m. Both victims who were on the adult tricycle have been released from the hospital.

The identity of the suspect will not be released at this time. Police are working closely with the Erie County District Attorney’s Office and Erie County Central Police Services Lab in this case.

One injured in crash

HANOVER – A two-car accident on Route 39 Tues-day sent a woman to the hospital. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded at 6 p.m.

According to police, Samantha Jackson of Forestville crossed the double solid yellow lane and entered into oncoming traffic. Her vehicle collided with a vehicle operated by Adam Reese of Perrysburg.

Jackson was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital by Forestville Ambulance for minor injuries. She was charged with moving from lane unsafely.

HANOVER – Kathy M. Restivo, 36, of Christy Road was charged with second-degree criminal trespass on Monday. Deputies were called to a Christy Road residence at 11:30 a.m. for a trespass complaint. Restivo allegedly entered and remained unlawfully in the house of another resident. She was released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

HANOVER – Jona-than R. White, 38, of Sala-manca was charged Monday with speeding, driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding. White was stopped at 12:47 a.m. for allegedly speeding and found to be allegedly intoxicated. He was released to a sober party.

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information on an East Chautauqua Street break-in.

On Monday, near 4:30 a.m., a burglary occurred at Johnson’s Pharmacy, 99 E. Chautauqua St. During the burglary, multiple narcotic drugs were stolen.

EVANS – Joe Viscuso, 50, of Angola was charged on Friday with driving while intoxicated, operating a vehicle with .08 of 1 percent or more alcohol in blood, refusal to take a breath test, operating a vehicle without stop lights and a muffler exhaust system violation after Fredonia-based State Police stopped a vehicle on Eisenhower Avenue for having a passenger side brake light out and a loud muffler. It was allegedly determined the operator, Viscuso, had been drinking. Viscuso failed standard field sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. Viscuso was transported to the Fredonia barracks for processing and had a BAC of .12 percent.

FREWSBURG – Mich-ael J. Pace-Segura, 18, of Lakewood was charged Saturday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol under the age of 21 after State Police pulled over a pickup truck occupied by six individuals on Ivory Road. While approaching the vehicle, a bottle of beer was allegedly observed on the floor. All occupants were issued tickets for possession of alcohol under the age of 21.

Deborah J. Glover, 53, of Olean was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, refusal of breath test and no headlight after Glover was pulled over for no headlight. The odor of alcohol was reportedly detected and after field sobriety tests she was placed under arrest for DWI and transported to the James-town barracks for processing, where she refused a breath test.

RIPLEY – Rachel A. Blanchard, 33, of Sherman was charged with five counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on Monday.

In June, there were reports of house break-ins in the village of Sherman where someone entered these homes and took cash, credit cards, jewelry and other miscellaneous items. Through an investigation, Blanchard was found allegedly in possession of several credit cards that belong to one of the break-in victims and used these cards at a Kwik Fill in the town of Pomfret. She was also found to be in alleged possession of the credit cards in the town of Ripley.

Blanchard was taken into custody on the warrants from the town of Pomfret and town of Ripley and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail. New York State Police are currently still investigating and more charges are pending.

Dunkirk man charged under Leandra’s Law

A 33-year-old Dunkirk man faces a slew of charges after police say he backed up into a post Sunday night while under the influence of alcohol and with children present in the vehicle.

According to the Dunkirk Police Department, Marceli-no Cintra of Lincoln Avenue is charged with disobeying a traffic control device, unsafe backing, driving in the wrong direction, driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with child in vehicle and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Around 10 p.m., a police officer reportedly observed Cintra’s vehicle parked on West Oak Street near Gratiot Court with its front bumper torn off. After an investigation, authorities determined Cintra had backed up into the yellow gate/post on the south end of Oak Street, causing left-side damage and tearing off the bumper. Police say the vehicle continued backing up, traveling north on West Oak Street in the wrong direction.

Three children under the age of 15 years were present as rear passengers in the vehicle. One was checked out for the complaint of pain, but was not transported to the hospital.

MAYVILLE – Nicole A. Lathan, 32, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree welfare fraud, fourth-degree grand larceny, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and misuse of food stamps over $1,000 on Thursday. The charges stem from a welfare fraud investigation by the sheriff’s office and Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services Program Integrity Unit. It is alleged between Feb. 1 and July 31, 2014 Lathan was employed and failed to notify social services of her income and attempted to conceal employment from social services. Lathan reportedly received $1,050 in food stamp benefits she was not entitled to. Lathan was released to appear in Jamestown City Court.

MAYVILLE – Jane A. Canada, 34, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and misuse of food stamps over $1,000 on Thursday. The charges stem from a welfare fraud investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services Program Integrity Unit. It is alleged that between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2014, Canada failed to notify social services that her husband had gained employment and had income. As a result, Canada received $1,171 in food stamp benefits she was not entitled to. She was released to appear in Jamestown City Court.

MAYVILLE – Nichole M. Brown, 31, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree welfare fraud, fourth-degree grand larceny, misuse of food stamps over $1,000 and three counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing on Friday. The charges stem from a joint investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services Program Integrity Unit. It is alleged that between Nov. 1, 2013 and Feb. 28, 2015, Brown failed to notify social services that her husband was employed and had income. Brown repeatedly concealed this information by filing false applications with DHHS. Brown reportedly received $2,749 in food stamp benefits she was not entitled to. Brown was released to appear in Jamestown City Court.

HANOVER – Randall M. Abbey Jr., 35, of Silver Creek was charged with second-degree harassment on Sunday. Deputies responded to Angell Road at 11:49 a.m. for the report of an altercation. Abbey allegedly shoved and slapped another person during an argument. Abbey was released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

MAYVILLE – Carol J. Halstead, 55, of New York City was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, moving from lane unsafely and failure to stop at a stop sign on Mon-day. Deputies stopped Hal-stead’s vehicle on Lakeview Avenue at 1:52 a.m. for allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign. During the traffic stop, Halstead was allegedly found to be intoxicated. She was released to appear in Chautauqua Town Court.

MAYVILLE – Sheri B. Doverspike, 44, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and misuse of food stamps over $1,000 on Monday. The charges stem from an investigation from the sheriff’s office and the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services Program Integrity Unit. It is alleged between July 1 and Sept. 30, 2014, Doverspike failed to notify social services that she was employed. Doverspike reportedly received $1,479 in food stamp benefits she was not entitled to.

MAYVILLE – Carl L. Gage, 26, of Dunkirk was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and misuse of food stamps over $1,000. The charges stem from an investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services Program Integrity Unit. It is alleged between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28, Gage failed to notify social services that he was employed. Gage reportedly received $1,022 in food stamp benefits he was not entitled to.

MAYVILLE – Troy A. Walker, 28, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree welfare fraud, fourth-degree grand larceny, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and misuse of food stamps over $1,000 on Monday. The charges stem from an investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services Program Integrity Unit. It is alleged between Oct. 1, 2014 and May 31, 2015 Walker failed to notify social services that he was working and receiving wages by filing a false application with social services. As a result, Walker received $1,552 in food stamp benefits and $25 in HEAP benefits he was not entitled to. Walker will appear in Jamestown City Court.

Motorcyclist ticketed for DWI after accident

MAYVILLE – A 62-year-old Sherman man was charged with driving while intoxicated after an accident involving a motorcycle on Water Street Sunday.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Of-fice, around 6:15 p.m., Jeffrey Curtiss of Route 430 entered the roadway while failing to yield the right of way to an oncoming vehicle. Curtiss allegedly came to a stop and laid the motorcycle down.

Police say he suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result of the accident and was thus transported to Westfield Memorial Hospital for treatment. He was later found to allegedly be operating the motorcycle while under the influence of alcohol.

Curtiss will appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date to answer the charge. The Mayville Fire Department assisted at the scene.

BROCTON – Clint Catchot, 21, of Sequoia Drive was charged with violation of probation for third-degree burglary on Sunday.

Around 3:30 p.m., deputies served a warrant on Catchot at a residence on Sequoia Drive. Catchot was reportedly located and taken into custody without incident.

He was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail and will appear in Chautauqua County Court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN – Juan Pacheco Jr., 33, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to keep right and refusal to take a pre-screen breath test on Sunday.

Around 2:45 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on W. Third St. for an alleged traffic violation. The operator was identified as Pacheco. An investigation found Pacheco to allegedly be intoxicated and he allegedly refused a pre-screen breath test. He was then taken into custody and reportedly refused a chemical test to determine the alcohol content of his blood.

Pacheco was released with traffic tickets for Jamestown City Court.

CARROLL – Jeremy T. Peterson, 21, of Kennedy was charged on July 11 with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, move from lane unsafely, failure to keep right and no/inadequate headlights after Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle on Ivory Road for multiple traffic violations. Investigation found Peterson to allegedly be intoxicated. Peterson will appear in Carroll Town Court at a later date.

IRVING – Hannah E Schuler, 25, of Lakewood was charged on July 10 with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with blood alcohol content .18 percent or higher and driving the wrong way down a one way street after deputies observed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction on South Shore Drive. After further investigation, it is alleged that Schuler was found to be intoxicated. Schuler was later released with traffic tickets and is due in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

NORTH HARMONY – Sara A. Zent, no age given, of Westfield was charged with driving while intoxicated on July 2. At 11:07 p.m. deputies responded to Old Bridge Road for the report of a disorderly subject. Through investigation it was found Zent had allegedly driven to Old Bridge Road while intoxicated. Zent was arraigned in court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

SHERMAN – Julius Y. Woma, 21, of Fredonia was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on July 3. Deputies were called to assist security at an event on Waits Corners Road at 11:30 p.m. Woma was found to be allegedly in possession of a quantity of ecstasy and LSD.

Woma had also been allegedly selling ecstasy while at the event. Woma was arraigned in Sherman Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $45,00 property bail.

CHAUTAUQUA – Bambi J. Hawkins, 37, of Sherman was charged on Thursday with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or greater, failure to use designated lane and failure to signal turn after Sheriff’s deputies allegedly observed a vehicle on South Erie Street commit multiple traffic violations.

The vehicle was stopped and the operator, Hawkins, was reportedly found to be intoxicated. Hawkins is due in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date to answer to the above charges.

CHAUTAUQUA – Courtney L. Tayerle, 25, of Ravenna, Ohio was charged on Sunday with driving while intoxicated and DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater after Sheriff’s deputies were called to Thumb Road in the town of Chautauqua for several unwanted subjects. Upon arrival, deputies reportedly made contact with subjects who were attempting to leave the area in a vehicle.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as Tayerle, and an investigation found her to be operating her vehicle while intoxicated.

She was taken into custody and after processing was released with uniform traffic tickets. Tayerle will appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.

CHAUTAUQUA – Timothy F H, 33, of Jamestown was charged on Thursday with use of a mobile phone while operating a motor vehicle and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after the subject was reportedly observed stopped at the traffic light in the four corners of Mayville talking on a mobile phone.

The subject was stopped, and after running a New York State Driver’s License check, it was reveled that the subject had 13 different suspensions for failing to answer previous traffic summonses in eight different courts.

The subject was arraigned in Chautauqua Town Court and later committed to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

SHERIDAN – Dale Dillenburg, 63, of Forestville was charged on July 5 with driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 of 1 percent or more alcohol in blood and speeding after Fredonia-based State Police stopped a vehicle on Route 39 for speeding, 76 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone.

The operator, Dillenburg, allegedly failed standard field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for DWI.

Dillenburg was transported to the Fredonia State Police station for processing, where a BAC of .10 percent was allegedly recorded.

All traffic tickets are returnable to Sheridan Town Court July 23.

Timothy Burdic, 22, and Ashley Halas, 27, both of Dunkirk were charged on July 4 and July 6, respectively, with third-degree assault after Fredonia-based State Police responded to West Lake Road in the town of Dunkirk for a report of an assault.

Investigation reportedly revealed the complainant had answered a knock on his door and been assaulted by an unknown male and female. The complainant was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital and treated for his injuries and released.

Interviews and further investigation led to the arrest of Burdic.

Burdic was processed at the Fredonia State Police station and issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Dunkirk Town Court on July 13.

Halas was also processed at the Fredonia State Police station and released with an appearance ticket returnable to Dunkirk Town Court on July 13.

Jamie Drummond, 55, of Fredonia was charged on July 6 with second-degree menacing with a weapon after Fredonia-based State Police responded to a complaint of menacing that had occurred on East Main Road, in the town of Pomfret.

Investigation allegedly revealed that a tenant, who was being evicted, had threatened the landlord with a gun after the house had been shown to a realtor in preparation of selling the house.

Drummond was charged and transported to the Fredonia State Police station for processing.

Drummond was then arraigned at Pomfret Town Court and sent to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond bail.

Drummond is to return to Pomfret Town Court on July 14.

SHERMAN – Anthony Snow, 31, of Bemus Point was charged on July 3 with fourth-degree criminal possesion of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana as a result of a road check at Waits Corners. Snow was reportedly found to be in possession of marijuana and a pair of brass knuckles.

A passenger, Shawn DeJesus, 32, of Jamestown was also allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana. DeJesus was issued an appearance ticket on the scene, returnable to Sherman Town Court on July 14.

Snow was placed in custody and transported to the state police station by Fredonia-based State Police for processing.

Snow was issued appearance tickets for the above charges, both returnable to Sherman Town Court on July 14.

SHERMAN – Isaac Dayton, 30, of Salamanca was charged on July 3 with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana after a road check at Waits Corners, where a strong odor of marijuana was allegedly found to be emanating from a vehicle.

Jamestown City Police Department, with a K-9, assisted by conducting a search of the vehicle. The operator, Dayton, was reportedly found to be in possession of marijuana and sugar cubes containing LSD.

Dayton was placed in custody and transported by Fredonia-based State Police to the station for processing.

Dayton was processed, released and is due back in Sherman Town Court on July 28.

SHERMAN – Albert Firster III, age 19, of Sherman; Trenton Bowers, 19, of Dubois, Pa.; and Nicholas Burks, 19 of Erie, Pa., were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana while Burks received an additional charge of unlawful possession of fireworks after a baggie with marijuana was reportedly observed in plain view during a road check at Waits Corners.

A lawful vehicle search revealed marijuana pipes with residue, a metal grinder with marijuana residue and an opened box of moon whistlers fireworks.

All subjects were issued appearance tickets for the above chargesby Fredonia-based State Police. All appearance tickets are returnable to Sherman Town Court on July 14.

Colleen O’Donnell, 24, of Cheektowaga was charged on July 4 with driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 of 1 percent or more alcohol in blood, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to dim headlights after Fredonia-based State Police stopped a vehicle on Route 60, in the town of Pomfret, for failure to dim the high beams.

While interviewing the operator, O’Donnell, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was reportedly emanating from her. O’Donnell allegedly failed standard field sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI.

O’Donnell was transported to the Fredonia State Police station for processing and was allegedly found to have a BAC of .15 percent.

All traffic tickets are returnable to Pomfret Town Court on July 21.

CONEWANGO – Nor-man I. Geddis, 45; Lisa M. Miller, 42, and Brooke E. Gordon, 18, all from Conewango, were charged July 2 with unlawfully growing cannabis after troopers went to the residence on an unrelated complaint and reportedly noticed marijuana growing in pots near the front door.

The plants were confiscated and placed into evidence and the three were issued appearance tickets returnable to Conewango Town Court at a later date.

STEAMBURG – Kev-in W. Martin, 44, of Steamburg was charged on July 2 with driving while intoxicated and refusal to take a breath test after troopers responded to a report of someone doing donuts in the roadway and running people off the road in the Steamburg area.

Troopers allegedly located the vehicle and identified the driver as Martin. He was arraigned in the Cold Spring Town Court and committed to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.

ELLERY – Felicia J. Cardone-Tefft, 26, of Jamestown was charged with felony driving while ability impaired by drugs, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to stop at a stop sign and operating without an ignition interlock device on June 26.

Deputies observed Cardone-Tefft’s vehicle allegedly fail to stop at a stop sign on Route 430 just before 11 p.m. She was found to be allegedly impaired by drugs and a DMV check found she had a prior conviction making this charge a felony.

Cardone-Tefft was released to appear in Ellery Town Court.

MAYVILLE – Skyler L. Miller, 28, of Ripley was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation on June 27.

Deputies located a vehicle on Water Street at 3 a.m. and found Miller was allegedly intoxicated. Miller had a prior DWI conviction in the past 10 years making this charge a felony.

Miller was arraigned in Chautauqua Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail.

HANOVER – Joseph J. Cartonia, 40, of Cheek-towaga was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to stop at a stop sign on Friday.

Deputies observed a motorcycle allegedly fail to stop at a stop sign on Routes 5 and 20 at 11:59 p.m.

Cartonia, the operator, was found to be allegedly intoxicated and was released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

STOCKTON – Jason D. Seward, 36, of South Dayton was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to use turn signal on Saturday.

Deputies observed Seward’s vehicle allegedly fail to signal a turn on Route 60 at 5:13 p.m.

Seward was found to be allegedly intoxicated and was released to appear in Stockton Town Court.

HANOVER – Kim-berly M. Lewandowski, 22, of Getzville was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and failure to stop at a stop sign on Sunday.

Deputies while working a STOP DWI crackdown detail observed a vehicle allegedly fail to stop at a stop sign on Alleghany Road at 7:12 p.m. Lewandowski was found to be allegedly intoxicated and was released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

Aaron J. Martinkovich, 33, of New Kensington, Pa., was charged with speeding, driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI on Monday.

Deputies stopped Martinkovich’s vehicle on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret at 7:05 p.m. for allegedly speeding. Martinkovich was found to be allegedly intoxicated during the traffic stop and was released to appear in Pomfret Town Court.

MAYVILLE – Larry E. Moore, 49, of Potter Road was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI on Tuesday.

Deputies charged Moore after receiving a motorist complaint about his erratic driving. Moore was found in a parking lot on South Erie Street and found to be allegedly intoxicated. This DWI charge was the second in 10 years making this a felony. Moore was arraigned in Chautauqua Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail on bail.

CLYMER – A 16-year-old female has been charged in connection with an assault that took place on June 14 at Wiltsie Road. Deputies were investigating an assault that occurred at a large party where a 17-year-old female from Jamestown was allegedly attacked by two other females, also Jamestown residents. The 16 year old was released to appear in Clymer Town Court and an arrest warrant has been issued for an 18 year old.

HANOVER – Darien L. Jimerson, 18, of Gowanda was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to stop at a stop sign on Friday. At 10:45 p.m., deputies observed Jimerson’s vehicle commit a traffic violation on Alleghany Road. Jimerson was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana. A passenger, Emerson C. Stevens, 18, of Lawtons, was also allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana. Stevens was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Both males were released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

HANOVER – Shane A. Gerace, 19, of Depew, was charged with having an open container of alcohol under 21 on Friday. Deputies patrolling the Sunset Bay public beach area just before 9:30 p.m. saw Gerace allegedly urinating in public. Gerace was allegedly in possession of an alcoholic beverage and was released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

Ronald M. Smith, 31, of Cheektowaga, was charged on July 2 with second-degree burglary and making a false written statement. Smith was cited after an investigation into a burglary that occurred in the town of French Creek on June 1 where the owner came home and surprised the suspect, who made his escape by jumping off the second floor balcony.

Smith was arraigned in Dunkirk Town Court and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail, with no bail.

A 17-year-old youth of Wisteria Drive was charged with second-degree harassment on July 1.

Anissa Priest, 19, of Fredonia-Stockton Road, Stockton, and Jonathan White, 19, of Route 60 were charged with possession of stolen property on Thursday.

Alexis Kachelmeyer, 18, of Newton Street, Dunkirk, and Luke Swan, 18, of Sinclairville were charged with second-degree obstruction of a governmental administration on Monday.

CLYMER – A 16-year-old female has been charged in connection with an assault that took place on June 14 at Wiltsie Road. Deputies were investigating an assault that occurred at a large party where a 17-year-old female from Jamestown was allegedly attacked by two other females, also Jamestown residents. The 16 year old was released to appear in Clymer Town Court and an arrest warrant has been issued for an 18 year old.

HANOVER – Darien L. Jimerson, 18, of Gowanda was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to stop at a stop sign on Friday. At 10:45 p.m., deputies observed Jimerson’s vehicle commit a traffic violation on Alleghany Road. Jimerson was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana. A passenger, Emerson C. Stevens, 18, of Lawtons, was also allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana. Stevens was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Both males were released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

HANOVER – Shane A. Gerace, 19, of Depew, was charged with having an open container of alcohol under 21 on Friday. Deputies patrolling the Sunset Bay public beach area just before 9:30 p.m. saw Gerace allegedly urinating in public. Gerace was allegedly in possession of an alcoholic beverage and was released to appear in Hanover Town Court.

State Police in Jamestown

Ronald M. Smith, 31, of Cheektowaga, was charged on July 2 with second-degree burglary and making a false written statement. Smith was cited after an investigation into a burglary that occurred in the town of French Creek on June 1 where the owner came home and surprised the suspect, who made his escape by jumping off the second floor balcony.

Smith was arraigned in Dunkirk Town Court and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail, with no bail.

Fredonia Police warn about online scam

The Fredonia Police Department is issuing a warning regarding a scam that has been going around on Craigslist.org regarding houses for rent within the village of Fredonia.

The house(s) are listed as being for rent when in actuality they are not. The advertiser reportedly collects the down payment (security deposit and first month’s rent) on the rental property and then pulls the ad down and cannot be located.

Police ask people to use caution when utilizing Craigslist or a similar type of online service for rental purposes.

MAYVILLE – Melissa Bridges, 47, of Felton Road, Westfield, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or greater, DWI, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument and unlawful possession of marijuana on Friday.

Around 8:40 p.m., deputies pulled a vehicle over on East Chautauqua Street for an alleged vehicle and traffic violation. The operator of the vehicle, Bridges, was found to be allegedly intoxicated. Further investigation found that Bridges was in alleged possession of several soboxone films, a hypodermic instrument and marijuana.

She was taken into custody and was released with appearance tickets for Chautauqua Town Court.

Arrestee is Carroll Police Chief

A Frewsburg man who was arrested is the Carroll Police Chief.

Saturday, the OBSERVER reported that Timothy Wright, 49, had been charged with third-degree assault after he was reportedly involved in a domestic dispute with his wife on April 5, while driving in the town of Leon. It is alleged that Wright struck his wife several times, causing injury.

He was issued an appearance ticket Friday by the State Police of Jamestown. Wright has a court appearance in Leon on July 13 at 7 p.m.

Wright is the Carroll Police Chief. A spokesperson for the New York State Police said that Wright will remain the police chief in Carroll for the time being.

MAYVILLE – Mercedez M. Jiminez, no age given, was picked up on a warrant Friday. The warrant stems from the North Harmony Town Court for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding. She was taken into custody at an East Chautauqua Street residence at 8:11 p.m. Jiminez was arraigned in North Harmony Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $500 cash or $1,000 property bond.

HANOVER – Nichole L. Pachucinski, 35, of Irving was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher and failure to signal turn on Saturday. Deputies stopped Pachucinski’s vehicle on Newton Street at 4:37 a.m., for an alleged traffic violation. Pachucinski was allegedly found to be intoxicated during the traffic stop. She was released to appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

HANOVER – Michael J. Danner, 22, of West Seneca was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to keep right on Saturday. At 2:42 a.m., deputies reportedly observed Danner’s vehicle commit a traffic violation on Alleghany Road. Danner was found to be allegedly in possession of marijuana during the traffic stop. He was released to appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

RIPLEY – John R. Rowicki III, 48, of West Main Street was charged with trespassing and second-degree harassment on Thursday. Deputies received the report of an altercation on West Main Street at 2:40 p.m. Rowicki allegedly trespassed on private property and punched a male victim on June 30. Rowicki was released to appear in Ripley Town Court.

NORTH HARMONY – Hans D Schultz, 41, of Westfield was charged on July 2 with unlawful possession of marijuana after Chautauqua County Sheriff deputies were called to the area of 3503 Old Bridge Rd. for a disorderly person. Upon arrival, deputies located the subject involved who was identified as Schultz.

Following an investigation, Schultz was allegedly found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. He was released and scheduled to return to North Harmony Town Court on later date to answer the charge.

LEON – Timothy Wright, 49, of Frewsburg was charged on April 5 with third-degree assault after Wright was reportedly involved in a domestic dispute with his wife on April 5, 2015, while driving in the town of Leon. It is alleged that during this argument, Wright struck his wife several times causing injuries.

Wright was issued an appearance for the above charge, a misdemeanor, and released on his own recognizes. Wright is to appear in the Leon Town Court on July 13 at 7 p.m.

MAYVILLE – Kristina L Beaujean, 32, of Mayville was charged on July 1 with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a warrant check for Beaujean, who was reportedly found and taken into custody on a bench warrant. After a search of Beaujean, it was alleged that she was in possession of a hydrocodone pills without a prescription. She was arraigned and sentto Chautauqua County Jail on bail.

Michael R. Fantauzzi, 62, of Fredonia was charged on July 2 with second-degree harassment after he allegedly went to a business on Vineyard Drive in Dunkirk and reportedly threw items at an employee, striking them with the items. Fantauzzi was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Dunkirk Town Court at a later date.

BROCTON – Christopher S. Miller, 17, was charged on July 2 with third-degree burglary after Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies served an arrest warrant on Fay Street for Miller for the above charge. Miller was taken into custody and arraigned in village of Brocton. Miller was then sent to the Chautauqua County Jail on $5,000/10,000 bail.

ELLERY – Lisa A. Adams, 48, of Randolph was charged with driving while intoxicated and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle on Thursday. At 12:20 a.m., deputies were investigating an unrelated complaint on Ellery-Centralia Road when Adams’ vehicle drove up to police and stopped in the roadway. While police were talking to Adams through a rolled down window, deputies discovered she was allegedly intoxicated. Adams was released to appear in Ellery Town Court.

Route 39 accident sends driver to hospital

HANOVER – A Forestville man was sent to the hospital following a one-vehicle crash on Route 39 Wednesday morning.

According to Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Frontuto, 81, was eastbound when he allegedly veered of the roadway and struck a utility pole at 9:20 a.m. Investigation revealed a medical condition may have been a factor in the accident. Frontuto was taken to Lake Shore Hospital by ambulance for unknown injuries. No charges have been filed. The Forestville Fire Department also responded to the scene.

MAYVILLE – Brandi C. Briggs, 33, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree welfare fraud, third-degree grand larceny, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and misuse of food stamps on Tuesday. Briggs was charged in related to a joint investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Department of Health and Human Services Program Integrity Unit. It is alleged that between April 1, 2014 and March 31, Briggs received $3,627 in food stamp benefits she was not entitled to. Briggs allegedly failed to notify DHHS her children were no longer residing with her and she continued receiving benefits for them. Briggs was released to appear in Jamestown City Court. NORTH HARMONY – Nicholas H. Nygren, 18, of Jamestown, a 17-year-old male from Celoron and a 16-year-old male from Lakewood were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Monday. Deputies stopped Nygren’s vehicle for an alleged traffic violation on Route 394 at 8:26 p.m. Nygren and the two males were found to be allegedly in possession of marijuana. All were released to appear in North Harmony Town Court.
