Gowanda Police Department

≤ On March 9 at roughly 1:03 a.m., Gowanda Police were notified of an active warrant for the arrest of Jacob E. Putnam, 29, of Gowanda. Officers located Putnam and arrested him on the warrant. Putnam was then turned over to the Erie County Sheriff’s Department.

≤ On March 11 at about 10 p.m., the Erie County Sheriff’s Department encountered Brandon J. Brooks, 24, of Gowanda, in Springville. Brooks had been arrested in December 2018 by the Gowanda Police on numerous charges. When Brooks failed to appear for a subsequent court appearance, the Town of Collins Court issued a warrant for his arrest. Brooks was turned over by deputies to the Gowanda Police Department, where he was arrested on the warrant. Brooks was arraigned in the Town of Collins Court and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Westfield Police Department

≤ On March 22 at about 7:15 p.m., the Westfield Police Department and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an address on Chestnut Street for an unwanted female. Upon arrival, patrols met with Brittany L. Jones, 33, of Fredonia, who was in a verbal argument with the male homeowner. It is also alleged that Jones attempted to damage property inside the residence that did not belong to her. Jones was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, attempted criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. Jones was brought to the Chautauqua County Jail for the centralized arraignment program.

≤ On March 23 at around 12:00 a.m., Daniel S. Geiger, 26, of Westfield, was arrested on a bench warrant for failure to pay a fine of $82. Upon further investigation, it was allegedly found that Geiger was also in possession of a quantity of heroin, hypodermic needles and drug paraphernalia. Geiger was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and criminally possessing a hypodermic needle. Geiger was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.

Evans Police Department

≤ On March 17 at 1:19 a.m., patrol observed a vehicle backing out of Stroh’s Tavern, and strike the front of an unoccupied vehicle. The driver was identified as Luis R. Maldonado Jr., 23, of Buffalo, and a NYSPIN check allegedly revealed that his New York state driver’s license was suspended. Maldonado was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operate motor vehicle by unlicensed driver and unsafe backing of vehicle. Maldonado was transported to Evans Police Department, booked, issued traffic tickets and his car was impounded.
