FALCONER — On August 7, troopers pulled over a vehicle on Route 394 for a seatbelt violation. While speaking to the driver, Colton Dishongh, 26, of Kennedy, troopers allegedly observed a pipe in plain sight containing burnt marijuana. Dishongh was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, issued an appearance ticket and a traffic ticket and is scheduled to appear in town of Ellicott Court later in the month.

SOUTH DAYTON — On August 7 at roughly 12 p.m., the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Bureau reported the arrest of Richard L. Tyma Jr., 50, of Sherman, for third-degree grand larceny and first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. The investigation determined that Tyma Jr. allegedly committed the crimes when he cashed several checks that had forged signatures, stealing the proceeds totaling $4,680, from his father’s bank account. Tyma Jr. was arraigned in Town of New Albion Court, where he was remanded to Cattaraugus County Jail on $1,000 cash bail. Tyma Jr. is to appear in village of South Dayton Court at a later date. Additional charges are pending.
