Clymer man charged in domestic incident

CLYMER — A domestic incident involving a shotgun has led to charges for a town resident.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies report they were dispatched to a residence in the town around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, deputies were able to determine that Tyler Lindemuth, 25, did allegedly display a shotgun while preventing another subject from leaving a residence during the course of an argument.

Lindemuth was taken into custody and charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment and second-degree menacing. He was transported to the county jail for Centralized Arraignment Process.

SILVER CREEK — Less than a week after a community forum on vandalism and crime, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department nabbed a Derby man after a report of a shoplifting in progress.

Around 8:46 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a business on Route 5 and Howard Street. Upon arrival deputies did confront a suspect outside of business after deputies witnessed the subject exit the business on his own.

After speaking with store staff the subject was identified to be the subject in question and found to have property on his person that belonged to the business and that he had not paid for before leaving the business. This subject was identified as Sean M. Schwartz, 27.

Deputies did take Schwartz into custody and transported him to the sheriff’s office Hanover Substation for processing. He was subsequently charged with petit larceny and released with an appearance ticket. He is to answer for the charge at a later date in Town of Hanover Court.

ELLICOTT — A traffic stop on Thursday evening on Fairmount Avenue led to charges for a Falconer woman.

At around 9:49 pm the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped a vehicle. Further investigation into the traffic stop found that the operator Melissa L. Centi, 47, was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Centi was also found to be in possession of metal knuckles.

Centi was taken into custody and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, suspended/revoked registration, vehicle with no insurance, failure to use turn signal.

Centi is to be in the Town of Ellicott court at a later date. She was then released.
