CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— PANAMA — At 12:30 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to an address. Upon further investigation it was determined that Michael R. Shafer, 20, of Jamestown did harass another individual at the residence. He was located a short time later and taken into custody without incident and charged with second-degree harassment.

— CHAUTAUQUA — At around 9:21 p.m. Saturday the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to an all-terrain vehicle complaint on Potter Road that had rolled into a ditch. Bystanders stated they saw a male in dark clothing run up the road away from the accident. Deputies located the suspected operator Christopher C. Kent, 37, of Card Road, Mayville, a distance away from the accident. Further investigation found Kent to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Kent was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, speed not reasonable and prudent, an unregistered motor vehicle and moved from lane unsafely. Kent was later released and will be in court later.

— CHAUTAUQUA — Around 10 p.m. March 11, deputies responded to multiple vehicle complaints on Route 394. They observed a vehicle parked on Chautauqua Steadman Road with its four-ways on. The operator was identified as 65-year-old Diane Fardink of Madison, Ohio.

Upon further investigation it was found Fardink was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Fardink was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI and no stopping/standing/parking on a highway. Fardink was later released and will return to court later.

— WESTFIELD — Around 3:49 p.m. Saturday, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Route 20. While acquiring the passenger’s information a false name was provided. Through an investigation, deputies were able to get his real name, which was Skyler L. Miller, 36, of Ripley. Miller had an outstanding felony warrant out of the department and a failure to appear warrant for Pennsylvania. He was taken into custody for his warrants and was additionally charged with false personation. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail to be arraigned for his charges. The operator of the vehicle was released.

— SILVER CREEK — At around 1 a.m. Saturday, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Monroe Street. The vehicle was observed operating on the roadway with no working headlights or taillights.

During a roadside interview of the male operator he was suspected of driving while intoxicated. The operator was identified as 40-year-old male Jay Murphy Jr. of Derby. Upon conducting standardized field sobriety testing on Murphy, he was transported to the Sheriff’s Office Hanover Substation and charged with driving while intoxicated. He was also issued a traffic ticket for operating a motor vehicle with no lights on. Murphy was later released and is scheduled to appear in the Hanover Town Court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Zacchae’us M. Kinsey, 25, of Jamestown, was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating while registration suspended and operating without insurance. Patrol stopped a vehicle at 11:49 p.m. Friday in the area of West Third and Cherry streets. An investigation found that Kinsey was allegedly operating the vehicle while his license was suspended 33 times. A check showed the vehicle did not have insurance and that the registration was suspended. Kinsey was found to have numerous warrants for his arrest. He was transported to jail and held for arraignment in court.

— Amanda B. Webber, 34, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident. Officers responded at 5:44 p.m. Friday to the east side of the city to assist firefighters. An investigation found that Webber intentionally pulled a fire alarm and was advised by the fire department not to pull the arm unless there was an emergency. Webber then pulled the alarm again after firefighters left. She was transported to jail and held for arraignment.

— William R. Gardner, 23, of Jamestown, was charged with third-degree criminal trespass, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. Officers responded at 6:08 p.m. Friday to Spring Street for a burglary in progress in which a male reportedly broke into a vacant apartment and was hiding inside. Gardner was located inside by officers. While being escorted into the jail, Gardner allegedly became combative and engaged in a physical altercation with officers.
