A Jamestown man has been sentenced for his guilty plea involving drug charges. District Attorney Jason Schmidt announced Monday that 33-year-old Jamal Jackson was sentenced to a total of 6 years in state prison with 5 years of post-release supervision by Judge David W. Foley after being convicted of fourth-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Shakira L. Cuevas-Garcia, 23, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated and other violations. At approximately 4:05 a.m. Sunday, officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East Second Street and Hopkins Avenue.
