DUNKIRK POLICE DEPARTMENT — A Dunkirk man is facing charges after swinging a machete while walking near the 300 block of Main Street on Sunday night. Jonathan Gonzalez-Colon, 34, was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment. At approximately 8:22 p.m., Dunkirk Police officers responded to calls of a man wielding a large machete and wildly swinging it at passersby. Jamestown woman charged in alleged kidnapping

A Jamestown woman has been charged by Ellicott police after an alleged kidnapping attempt on Saturday. Angelea A. Luszcak, 33, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree attempted kidnapping, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment after an incident Saturday after Ellicott police responded to a report of a woman attempting to kidnap a child in the area. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Debra Maldonado, 64, was charged Feb. 25 with having an active warrant, and seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance. According to police, at about 7:39 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Linden Avenue, near Forest Avenue, for an observed traffic infraction. After approaching the vehicle, police said, officers observed Maldonado, who was known to have an active arrest warrant, in the passenger seat. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT - Ian Tyler Ward, 33, of the town of Hanover, and Sarah Kestler, 38 of the town of Hanover were both charged Tuesday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officials said, at about 8:52 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Routes 5 and 20 in the town of Hanover. Ward was the operator, and Kestler was the passenger.
