JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Christopher L. Morton, 36, was charged Friday with driving while ability impaired, and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to police, at about 2:44 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle in the area of North Main Street and West Oak Hill Road. Through investigation it was found that the vehicle’s operator, Morton, allegedly under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs. Gunshots in city lead to weapons, drug charges for man

An incident involving gunshots has led to charges for a 32-year-old man. Dunkirk police report Donte Chambers is facing charges of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal possession of a stolen weapon and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dunkirk police received calls for gunshots in the area of King and Benton streets. Officers checked the area, but could not locate any victims or the source. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Daniel J. Pfaffenbach, 45, was charged Wednesday with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. According to police, at about 11:58 p.m., officers were patrolling in the area of Windsor and Harrison streets, and after an observed traffic violation by a passing motor vehicle, a traffic stop was conducted. Pfaffenbach was identified as the operator, and through investigation it was found that he allegedly had 34 suspensions on 11 dates on his New York State driver’s license. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT - Tina Holland, 41, of Lakewood, was charged Feb. 11 with three counts of abandonment of animals. Officials said, at about 7: a.m. deputies responded to a report from the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, town of Ellicott concerning three cats abandoned at the back entrance of the facility. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with staff members who had discovered the cats outside the building. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENTMENT - Brandon L. Calkins, 39, of Jamestown was charged Feb. 14 with second-degree harassment, and endangering the welfare of a child. According to police, at about 2:04 p.m., officers responded to a southside residence for a report of a domestic incident. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the female victim outside of the residence. Following an investigation, it was determined that Calkins had been involved in a verbal dispute with the victim that escalated into a physical altercation.
