MISSING SWIMMER’S BODY LOCATED IN CHAUTAUQUA LAKE An Ohio man who was swimming and went missing on Chautauqua Lake was located Sunday. On Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a submerged swimmer on Chautauqua Lake north of Chautauqua Institution. The Chautauqua County Water Emergency Team and the department’s marine division responded and were unable to locate the swimmer. The search was paused due to darkness and resumed on Sunday. JAMESTOWN — A Falconer man is facing assault and weapons charges after an incident Sunday morning in Jamestown. City police report David D. Rodriguez, 34, was charged with first-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of first-degree criminal contempt after the 10:15 a.m. incident. Officers responded to an eastside address for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim with serious facial injuries on the sidewalk. Missing teens found safe State Police in Fredonia have announced that the two missing teenage females from Cassadaga were found safely. They were initially reported missing Thursday at 2 a.m. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – Andrew S. Betts, 43, of Dunkirk was charged Friday at 11:50 a.m. with driving while ability impaired with drugs, failure to keep right, and moving from lane unsafely after deputies responded to a property damage accident on Route 5, Dunkirk. He will answer to the charges in Dunkirk Town Court at a later date.
