CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — CHAUTAUQUA — At about 6:23 p.m. Sunday, patrol located a vehicle parked on Route 430. The vehicle was partially blocking the lane of traffic and the vehicle's operator was located a short distance away. The operator of the vehicle was identified as 38-year-old Rhonda M. Geyer of Allegany. Following an investigation it was determined that Geyer was driving the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and subsequently released with traffic tickets for parking on the highway, DWI, and DWI per se. She will return to town ...

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — KENNEDY — Sheriff's Office Patrol was dispatched to I-86, Exit 14, for a report of a motor vehicle crash around 2:35 a.m. Sunday. While on scene, deputies gave verbal commands to the operator to exit his vehicle and he did refuse. The operator was assisted out of the vehicle on scene by deputies, and in the process, he did refuse to comply. Once in custody he was evaluated by medical staff and subsequently released. JAMESTOWN POLICE - Shawn A. Beardsley, 31, of Jamestown, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance at 1 a.m. Friday after city police officers conducted a warrant check on the city’s south side. Officers had previously learned that Beardsley was at the residence while having an outstanding arrest warrant for third-degree robbery. Officers were able to make contact with Beardsley at his residence and he was taken into custody. In a search after the arrest, officers allegedly found Beardsley in possession of cocaine. Lakewood fire blamed on electrical issue LAKEWOOD — An electrical issue is being blamed for a fire Wednesday morning. At about 5:50 a.m., Lakewood Fire Department, along with mutual aid, responded to a residential blaze on Freeman Street. Once extinguished, Lakewood Fire requested the Sheriff’s Fire Investigation Team. Following an investigation, it was determined that the fire originated within a first floor wall due to an electrical issue. No injuries have been reported. GOWANDA POLICE DEPARTMENT — GOWANDA — A disturbance on Buffalo Street in Gowanda led to a charge of criminal contempt for 33-year-old Kevin M. Stafford Jr., of Cold Spring. On Dec. 21, at 9:08 p.m., Gowanda Police responded to a disturbance at an address on Buffalo Street. Gowanda Police were informed that Stafford had been in a vehicle with an acquaintance when an argument occurred. FREDONIA MAN FACING RAPE CHARGE A Fredonia resident has been arrested for allegedly having sexual relations with a minor. According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, on July 10, an investigation was conducted by the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Investigators allege that Jonathan M. Tresler, 34, did engage in sexual intercourse with a juvenile victim.
