JAMESTOWN – Harley-Davidson of Jamestown’s first ever SPAY-ghetti and NO BALLS Lunch generated $372 for the Chautauqua County Humane Society. A box of donated items from the CCHS Needs List was also collected and customers donated an additional $200 out of the kindness of their hearts. The monies were contributed to the 2014 CCHS Pennies 4 Paws campaign, which aimed to raise $17,000 between February 12 and April 30 for their animal rehabilitation services.

Megan Arnone, Harley-Davidson of Jamestown Marketing Manager, commented, “This event piqued a lot of people’s interest I think it had something to do with the name. We were really excited to host a benefit for the Chautauqua County Humane Society. There are a lot of animal lovers on staff here and we had fun promoting the benefit by sharing pictures and stories of our own pets. Here at Harley-Davidson of Jamestown we are really invested in bettering our local community and I believe we do an awesome job at reaching out to people in need on a regular basis. It was time to give the animals some attention. I think a quote by Mahatma Gandhi sums it up pretty well, ‘The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals treated.’ We look forward to hosting future benefits.”

Tickets for the event were sold at Harley-Davidson of Jamestown, the Chautauqua County Humane Society, and 2nd Chances Thrift Shop for $8 each. Sandee’s Bakery and Deli catered the lunch, which consisted of baked ziti (vegetarian), meatballs, a side salad, bread, cookies and a beverage.
