AI Consortium meets at SUNY JCC’s Cattaraugus County campus

OLEAN — SUNY Jamestown Community College hosted the biannual Western New York Community College AI Consortium in the Magnano Room at its Cattaraugus County campus on Friday, April 10. The meeting brought together more than 40 participants from six regional community colleges to discuss effectively implementing and expanding artificial intelligence use on their campuses. Nine businesses fined for water violations

MAYVILLE – There were nine businesses that were recently fined for violating various water regulations. During the Chautauqua County Board of Health meeting, it was announced there were four businesses who wanted to go before the hearing officer. The remaining five agreed to settle. Basil & Bones requested to go before the hearing officer but no one showed up for the hearing. They missed filing a water sample in January. MOOG endorses Dream It Do It program certification

MOOG is partnering with Dream It Do It Western New York to support efforts to build a talent pipeline into manufacturing careers. Representatives of MOOG officially endorsed the Dream It Do It Advanced Manufacturing Program (DIDIAMP) Certification. The certification is a regionally recognized manufacturers credential that has been designed by the Manufacturers Association of the Southern Tier in collaboration with students, teachers, counselors, principals and funders. Solar company submits wetlands permit application

York Run Solar, LLC recently filed a joint application with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for a wetlands permit which includes a submission of a water quality certification to the New York State Office of Renewable Energy Siting and Electric Transmission. The York Run Project is in the towns of Busti and Kiantone. In April 2025, Gov. Hanover talks personnel, upcoming events

HANOVER — A number of personnel items and issues have been addressed in the past month. The Town Board approved a title change of Alex Fenske to full-time Assistant Inspection Officer at a rate of $23 per hour. The title of Ronald Raczka was also changed to part-time Assistant Inspection Officer and part-time Clerk II at a rate of $22.50 per hour.
