Annual cemetery meeting is May 10

The annual meeting of the Burnham Hollow Cemetery will be at 6 p.m. May 10 at the home of Audrey Schmoyer on East Main Road in Fredonia. Those with questions should call 672-4024.

CASAC Prevention Works Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue Tuesday

CASAC Prevention Works will hold a Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue fund-raiser on Tuesday, May 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Raymour & Flanigan parking lot, 1001 Fairmount Ave., Jamestown. The cost is $11 per dinner. The menu includes a barbecued chicken halve, green beans, mashed potatoes and a dinner roll. Take-out and drive-through are available. There will be free delivery for ten or more dinners ordered ahead in the Jamestown, Lakewood and Falconer area. Purchase tickets presale to guarantee availability. Call 664-3608. Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club Ladies Auxiliary sale and meeting

On Sunday, May 5, starting at noon and going until sold out, the Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club Ladies Auxiliary will be selling beautiful hanging flower baskets for $15 each in the club hall just in time for Mothers’ Day. Come early for first choice. Members and guests are welcome.

Murray Hose Co. No. 4 news

Murray Hose Co. No. 4 will hold its regular meeting on Monday, May 6 at 104 W. Doughty St., Dunkirk. the agenda includes reviewing plans for the Memorial service May 26. The meeting will be followed by the Swienconka Meal at the Kosciuszko Club.

Villenova Grange plans pancake brunch May 5

The Villenova Grange will hold a pancake brunch Sunday, May 5 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Balcom Corners, 438 Route 83 (and 322), South Dayton. The event is all you can eat. The cost is $8 large, $7 small.

Museum to open Sunday

The Valley Historical Society museum, located at the corner of Main and Lester streets in Sinclairville, will open on Sunday, May 5, for the first time this year. The museum will be open to the public from 2 to 5 p.m. with no admission charge. The museum will be open every Sunday through September except on holiday weekends. The next opening will be Sunday, May 19.

Spring Rummage Sale by the Trinity Episcopal Church Women planned

A spring rummage sale by the Trinity Episcopal Church Women in Garland Hall ( back of the Church ) 11 Day St. Fredonia, is set for Friday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to noon. This is a clean sale of a variety usable items, and always a surprise of what is there. The last hour of the event is a bag sale which means, all you can fit in the bag for a nominal price. Come and explore the treasures.
