Care week being noted in county

Child and adult care providers across the country will celebrate National Child and Adult Care Food Program Week through Saturday.

Participants are dedicated to serving nutritious meals and snacks to children and adults in care settings.

The Chautauqua Child Care Council of Chautauqua Opportunities Inc. recently distributed “Certificates of Awesomeness” to the registered and licensed and informal (legally exempt) child care providers in Chautauqua County who participate in the CACFP through the council. Along with the certificates, the council offered child care providers parent newsletters and fun activities for helping children to learn healthy eating habits.

Parents who need child care or help in paying for care can call the council’s toll-free number (800-424-4532) or go to COI’s website at www.chautauquaopportunities.com.

The council offers free referrals to registered and licensed child care programs. Council staff can also provide assistance in what to look for in quality child care and help in finding ways to pay for child care.
