Sinclairville holds barbecue Sunday

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Company will be holding a chicken barbecue on Sunday. Drive through only, line up in the rear parking lot off Maple Street. Barbecue begins at noon. Dinners include half chicken, scalloped potatoes, roll, pickle, applesauce, and a cookie, for $11. Chicken halves are also available for $7 each.

Sheridan Historical Society open house

SHERIDAN — Sheridan Historical Society will be open on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. Masks are required for visitors not fully vaccinated. The regular monthly meeting will follow. The society is located at 2702 Route 20 at the corner of Center Road. All are welcome.

County Ethics Board to meet Wednesday

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Ethics Board will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, in rooms 331 and 333 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville. Current members of the board include John Hamels, Diane Hannum, John Marengo, David Rowe and Mary Kay Szwejbka. Individuals attending the meeting will be required to wear a mask when they go through the security screening area inside the building’s main entrance. After individuals go through the screening area, if they are vaccinated then they are not required to wear a mask in the building. If individuals are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, then they must still wear a mask and be socially distanced at all times while in the building.

Fredonia workshop moved

The village of Fredonia’s previously scheduled board workshop for July 5 has been moved to Tuesday, July 6.

Bridge replacement project on Route 60

A portion of Route 60 in the town of Ellicott will be closed to traffic for about two and a half months for a bridge replacement project.

The state Department of Transportation said the bridge over Cassadaga Creek will be closed to traffic beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 6. A detour will be posted along Van Cobb and Salisbury roads. All construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change, the state DOT said in a news release.

“Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.”

First Ward Falcon Club Independence Weekend event

Freedom has finally arrived, Come to the First Ward Falcon Club, 341 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk or live outdoor music with Second Street Sunset from 7 to 10 p.m. The club is open regular hours on Sunday, July 4, open to club members and their guests. Come by this year for all of the scheduled events.
