Hippie Party set for Friday

A ’70s Hippie Party will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Dom Polski Club, 179 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk. Ion Sky will be performing. The event is open to members and eligible guests.

‘Rock The Moose’ fundraiser Saturday

GOWANDA — Gowanda Loyal Order of Moose Lodge is hosting its annual “Rock The Moose Scholarship Fund” fundraiser from 2 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday. This event raises funds for the $500 scholarships given to high school students each year by the Gowanda Loyal Order of Moose. It is a fun evening and afternoon of music and more.

Saving Shaggy will play from 3 to 7 p.m. and Crash Cadillac will play from 7 to 10:30 p.m. A pork dinner will be served from 2 p.m. till gone and there will also be a large basket raffle, Big ticket item raffle, and 50-50 drawings throughout the day.

Lakeshore Humane Society sets Father’s Day events

Lakeshore Humane Society Father’s Day Weekend drive-thru/pick-up Weidner’s Chicken Barbecue

The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a Father’s Day Weekend drive-through, pick-up Weidner’s Chicken Barbecue on Saturday, June 15 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Lakeshore Humane Society Adoption Center, 431 E. Chestnut St. in Dunkirk.

The dinner includes a half chicken, buttered potatoes, cole slaw, and roll. Tickets are $16. Purchase presale tickets by June 5 online at lakeshorehumanesociety.org (go to “More Info” and then select the “Shop” page) or in-person at LHS Open Adoption Hours, Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m.

Presale ticket purchase is strongly encouraged; a limited number of dinners might be available the day of the event, but cannot be assured.

On this day before Father’s Day, there will also be a bake sale where everyone can purchase delicious Father’s Day treats and a fabulous basket raffle to help the efforts of the Lakeshore Humane Society. The Cat’s Meow Boutique in the Adoption Center will be open for the purchase of gift items! (Saturday LHS Open Adoption Hours will be held as usual). New Choral Camp part of Fredonia Summer Music Festival

The State University of New York at Fredonia Summer Music Festival is launching a Choral Camp running June 30 to July 6, in addition to its popular band, piano and string camps.

The Choral Camp welcomes middle and high schoolers to work with Fredonia faculty and student counselors on the Fredonia campus.

Daily activities include festival choir, festival chorus, opera and musical theatre scenes, speech and movement classes and optional private lessons. Those attending will join the band and piano campers and camp counselors for evening activities.

Students will be housed in a campus residence hall, with resident counselors.

Brocton – Portland Arch and Seller Days planned

BROCTON — The Brocton – Portland area will hold Arch and Seller Days on May 31, June 1 and June 2 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. This will be a communitywide event.
