Brush pickup planned Monday in village The village of Fredonia will be picking up limbs and yard waste beginning Monday at 7 a.m. Collection will continue until every village street has been completed. Bags and brush are collected separately by different crews. All items for collection must be at the curb no later than 7 a.m. In no case will there be a repeat collection of areas completed. Trinity United Church of Christ free community meal The Trinity United Church, located at Erie Avenue and Park Street, Gowanda, will host a take-out only free community meal at the Park Street entrance on Saturday, July 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. or gone. Drive East Main to Railroad Avenue and then down Park Street, following the signs, or walk up. The menu is grilled chicken, rice medley, tossed salad, bread and cookie. SUNY sponsors two ‘Great Wednesdays’ The State University of New York at Fredonia will be sponsoring two of the “8 Great Wednesdays in the Park” put on by Festivals Fredonia. The free, family-friendly concert series will run every Wednesday in Barker Common from July 1 through Aug. 19. Preshow activities will start at 5:30 p.m. and the music will be on from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. SUNY Fredonia, which is celebrating 200 years, is sponsoring the July 8 Americana Night with Unknown Legends night and Blues Night with Jeff Fetterman on Aug. 19.
