Route 60 detour set for city of Dunkirk The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that State Route 60 will be closed from West Courtney Street to West Doughty Street in the city of Dunkirk beginning at 7 a.m. Monday. The closure is necessary to facilitate repairs to the railroad crossing by CSX. State Route 60 is expected to reopen at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 29, weather permitting. Antique group holds monthly meeting The Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the club grounds. All members are encouraged to attend. Outreach event planned for July 13 Iglesia Pentecostal Dios Con Nosotros, Inc. will be hosting its second annual outreach event on Saturday, July 13 beginning at noon. Dunkirk elementary students to be dismissed early Dunkirk elementary school students will be released early due to forecasted high temperatures and a heat index of more than 100 degrees on Tuesday and Thursday. Meat and shrimp bingo set for Saturday The Sons of the American Legion, Squad 59, will be holding a new and improved Meat and Shrimp Bingo fundraiser organized by Dave Schanzlin on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Post 59, 156 E. Main St., Fredonia. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Twelve rounds of meat and shrimp bingo will be played and the rounds are from Lakeside Market in Angola.
