Brocton to go to remote learning after COVID exposure

BROCTON — Students within the Brocton Central School District will go to full remote learning beginning Tuesday. Superintendent Jason Delcamp said there was a COVID-19 exposure impacting four staff members in the district. He said other employees also remain in quarantine due to outside exposure. Thursday's Western New York hospitalizations hit a new high since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. On Friday, however, the numbers decreased. According to the New York Forward website, regional hospitalizations dropped by 13 patients to 535. The site also noted that 74% of the beds were filled with 53% occupied in Intensive Care Units. 91 new COVID cases announced in Cattaraugus County

It was an unfortunate record-setting day in Cattaraugus County on Thursday evening. The Health Department announced 91 new cases with 575 active. Total cases are 1,670 with 1,063 recovered. Twenty-six residents were reported hospitalized.
