County reports 90 new COVID cases in one day

The Chautauqua County Health Department on Friday reported 90 new COVID cases. And for the third straight day, active cases, those with the virus in the hospital and people in quarantine all rose. Of the new cases reported, from information collected Thursday, 32 came from the Jamestown zip code; 12 from Fredonia; 11 from Dunkirk; six from Falconer; four each from Forestville, Silver Creek and Bemus Point; and three each from Westfield, Lakewood and Kennedy. Active COVID cases, hospitalizations up in county for second day

For the second day in a row, the number of active cases of COVID-19, people with the virus in the hospital and those in quarantine in Chautauqua County all increased. The health department on Thursday reported 210 active cases, up from the 199 recorded Wednesday; 10 people in the hospital with the virus, up one from the day before; and 331 in quarantine, an increase from the 316 noted Wednesday. The county also reported 37 new cases of the virus and one new virus-related death. There have been 9,799 confirmed cases to date along with 9,428 recoveries and 161 virus-related deaths.

Active COVID cases, hospitalizations see bump in county

Active cases of COVID-19, people with the virus in the hospital and those in quarantine all increased in numbers released Wednesday by the Chautauqua County Department of Health.
