Dunkirk man charged in accident involving Hanover store
HANOVER — A Dunkirk man has been charged in connection with a May 5 motor vehicle accident that damaged a retail store.
Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies reported Sunday that they responded around 8:55 p.m. to the Dollar General Store on Route 5. Upon arrival deputies located a vehicle that left the road and struck the storefront.
Deputies did locate the driver Randall L. Fancher, 64. After a brief investigation it was determined that Fancher was operating the vehicle while under the influence. Fancher was charged with DWI combination drugs and alcohol and transported to the sheriff’s office substation in Pomfret for processing. Fancher was later released with tickets to be in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date.
