PORTVILLE — One 19-year-old man has died and two other teenagers were injured after an early Saturday morning crash on Route 417.

Cattaraugus County sheriff’s deputies report that at around 1:25 a.m., a pickup truck driven by a 20-year-old male struck a Jeep that was legally parked on the side of the road, propelling the Jeep across the lawn and fatally striking the 19-year-old. The truck continued on and hit a parked sedan before driving across a lawn. One of both of the vehicles hit a 16-year-old girl and 18-year-old woman.

The 18-year-old was taken to ECMC and is in critical condition. The other girl was transported to Oishei Children’s Hospital and is being treated for multiple injuries.

Deputies said the presence of intoxicants is suspected and the investigation is continuing. Names at this time were being withheld and charges have yet to be filed.
