City police issue warning on vehicle thefts

The Dunkirk Police Department has seen an increase in the amount of vehicle entries, vehicle thefts and attempted vehicle thefts within the past month. The Dunkirk Police Department is reminding city residents to lock their vehicles and remove all valuables from their vehicles. The primary vehicle makes being targeted are Kia and Hyundai, however are not limited to those vehicle makes. The Dunkirk Police Department urges City residents to contact the Police Department with any suspicious activity; callers may remain anonymous if they wish.

Dunkirk man charged after two brief police chases

A Dunkirk man driving on a revoked non-driver's identification card led police on two chases Tuesday in the town of Hanover and the city of Dunkirk. At 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, David P. JAMESTOWN — In Irv King’s first season as the head coach of the Clymer boys basketball team, his Pirates defeated rival Sherman to win the Section VI Class D championship.
