Travel advisories issued for north county municipalities

In addition to Chautauqua County, the city of Dunkirk, village of Fredonia and town of Pomfret have issued travel advisories for residents. City of Dunkirk Police said "due to worsening road conditions, the City of Dunkirk Police Department, in cooperation with the Mayor's Office, DPW, and DFD, is issuing a travel advisory until further notice. Winter storm warning begins Monday for region

A winter storm warning will be in effect starting Monday and ending in the new year. According to the National Weather Service, heavy snow is expected with total accumulations of 1 to 2 feet. Winds will be gusting as high as 65 mph, creating blowing and drifting snow and whiteout conditions in Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie counties.
